I'm very late to the party but must say I'm enjoying it. Also, feel lucky. For a person that started overlord when the first season came out it was not fun sledding. After season one it was like 4 years before season two came out and then another three years for season three. The only season that was quick was season four which was like six months to a year after season three. Now we are waiting to see if season five is a thing or not.

That is so freaking wild to think about! I would hate to see her go fully rouge on us!

On another note, Ainz actually hesitated at the end to cast Fallen Down and kill shaltear and he almost failed if Aura didn't use her skill.

yo great finale. Loved your takes on things.

If Shalltear were smarter, she could beat him 1v1. If Albedo is in the picture, no way - one of the things in her NPC info is she’s a tank.

Touch me might sound kinda like a weird joke of a name but I'm pretty sure the idea behind the name was more of like mocking players because he was so good at the game no one could touch him even if in english it comes off as a little weird

Shalltear is literally having to fight all 41 guild members since Ainz has all their weapons and armor. The eye behind Shalltear is one of Aura's skills she used it to make Shalltear pause her attack so Ainz had time to cast his spell. Shorty is the nickname Shalltear uses for Aura (mentioned in the coach in episode 10). Ainz now has to worry that any time he sends out someone that they could also be attacked and mind controlled so that concern will hamper his future activities. We had the pain of waiting to find out if season 2 would be made and then wait 3 years for the release you just have to wait till the download finishes, lol.

Yep. Nazarick was set in a real world setting. He said he couldn't access his console or call a gm so it would make sense that he can't buy Microtransactions anymore.

my two cents to your question: Statwise Shalltear is very much able to kill Ainz, contrary to pretty much every new world resident we've met so far. Ainz as well as all of the Guardians are level 100, some more geared towards combat than others. Those cash shop items he used are finite. You had to get them "irl" and that's not really an option anymore ;) The fact that Ainz, stingy as he is, chose to use that finite resource goes to show how much of a threat Shalltear posed.

This ending to the season really helps push Ains and show him that merely staying low and learning isn’t going to be viable especially since there was a threat that could cause such a big problem as world items do. It gives him agency and is a bit of a pivot point to how he handles himself in the next seasons. Can’t wait for the second season to start, the first half is definitely slower feeling but the second half is so good. Be prepared for a ton of world building and small little hints at the future of the anime. It really does amazing at laying out the seeds of what is to come and small details in this next season have good pay off in the future.
