Future Plans #39

Hi everyone!

Another simpler / more low-effort post coming for this month's future plans preview post. 🥹 In case you're not aware, this is an early preview regarding my next game that'll come after Reanimation Scheme — Fate of the Celestial Mirror, a xianxia otome/BL game.

Anyway, for this post, I want to share a new cut-in CG that has been completed — just in time for the new video editor to use for the trailer (which I'll share more on next time!) I'm really fond of this CG because it's really cool imo — though I think the artist had a rough time because the pose and composition was so weird and difficult and needed two versions of the MC in the same pose too 🤣

This is the cut-in CG that will be used in-game for when you go through lightning tribulations to breakthrough a cultivation stage!

I'm hoping to be able to animate some of it slightly, like the lightning strikes coming down, so it'll hopefully look even cooler in game 👀 But it's very likely it'll be included in the trailer, so that will look super awesome as well, especially since the video editor can animate it more in the video to make things like the clothes fluttering in the wind!

As a side note, I debated making a thematic minigame for these tribulations which will determine whether you manage to breakthrough to the next cultivation stage (i.e. level up) or not, but I ended up deciding against it because I think a lot of players aren't fans of minigames and just find it a time-waster / getting in the way of the story.

Maybe I'll re-evaluate that in the future depending on alpha test feedback, but for now, a fancy CG is what you'll get to illustrate and emphasize the key moment of you powering up!

Okay, that's all I've got to share this time. Next month, if I'm lucky, I'll be able to share some clips of the trailer that's currently in progress (and rant about the long and arduous journey it was to get a goddamn trailer for this game).
