Future Plans #38
Added 2025-05-01 04:41:41 +0000 UTCHey everyone!
I'm cutting it close again to the deadline for this month... I'm so sorry about these last-minute reward posts 🥹 I've been so busy these couple of weeks with looking/researching for new furniture/electrical appliances for the new house that I've barely had any time to sit down to write these Patreon posts.
Anyway, next reward post for this month is an early preview regarding my next game that'll come after Reanimation Scheme — Fate of the Celestial Mirror, a xianxia otome/BL game!
Today, I want to give a sneak peek of more of the artwork that's been commissioned so far.
Cut-in CGs
One thing I lamented about Reanimation Scheme is that due to limited budget, I could only afford to have 5x romance CGs for each LI's route + 1x story CG in the common route. It left a lot of the impactful moments without a CG for extra oomph, and let's be honest, who doesn't love more pretty illustrations in general, right?
Now, the limited budget part hasn't changed with this new project, and in fact, each CG costs me like twice more than a single one did for RS because of dual MC sprite options and just general artists' rates increasing over the years.
So after some consideration, I decided to settle on a compromise — for the important story/plot moments that could really use a CG for more impact or better conveying of the scene, I'll hire a different artist for smaller cut-in CGs that cost less than full CGs.
The new artist has tried her best to style match the existing sprite art, so hopefully there isn't jarring style inconsistency.
Here's one example of the first finished plot-oriented cut-in CG & relevant variations by the new artist:
