Future Plans #7

Hey everyone!

Thank you for supporting this Patreon for another month! First reward for this month is another early sneak peek at Ascendants, the next project to come after Reanimation Scheme. This time, I'll be sharing more previews of the UI!

If you've noticed from my previous projects, I'm very particular and picky about my games' UIs. I really like more creative / immersive layouts, and I care about the UI design a lot because in my opinion, that's one of the most important details about the game's presentation. Not only should it convey the mood and theme of the game, but it should also draw your players into the universe and story — and be aesthetically pleasing, of course, as the players will theoretically be spending hours and hours staring at the UI!

It took me a good while to find a UI artist whose work / style I enjoy and is able to execute my vision for the UI of Ascendants, but eventually, I commissioned Ayael, the dev behind Synstoria (creators of Imperial Grace), and I'm very very pleased with how this UI turned out!

You've already seen some sneak peeks of the character creation, title & speech bubbles screen, but the best parts are the remaining screens!

Save/Load Screen

An interesting layout to fit the circular theme of the UI that I personally adore~ Hovering over each of the slots show a preview of the screenshot!

Settings Screen

The settings screen! Nothing too special, but as you can see, there'll be a fair amount of extra options to make your playthrough more friendly — you can turn personality hints (i.e. the hover indicator that tells you what personality trait the choice affects) on and off, as well as timed combat choices!

Now speaking of the choices...

Choices Screen

I really like how the choices screen look! Locked choices will be greyed out like Choice #1, and the timer will be displayed in the middle (along with the bubble slowly going empty as time ticks down) if you choose to have timed combat choices on!
