Let's see what happens when it's their turn to make the harsh decisions and they end up worse off. Like it or not, when it's in Clarke's hands more people end up alive than dead whether if she hadn't done anything at all

2022-06-06 04:11:59 +0000 UTCI agree with Clarke's decision, because I, as a viewer, trust Clarke to consider the appropriate facts and come to, a fair approximation of, the best solution. However, I can see why they would object to her having the unilateral authority to make the list. In that case, a commission could be voted upon to determine how many people are needed from each profession, how many: doctors, engineers, farmers, etc. Then among those, rank those based on criteria the commission agreed upon, such data would include all of the qualifications of the individuals, medical records, survey to determine if they are willing to have children, etc. However, all of this would waste an indeterminate amount of time, assuming people are even reasonable enough to look beyond their own selfish desires to seek that some people are objectively more useful than others. Due to the harsh time constraints involved here, and the aforementioned issues, I think that Clarke making the decision to suppress this information, and encourage people to work is best, once the repairs are complete and people no longer need motivation, if there is still time, one could determine more specific criteria, and reevaluate the list.
