Victor was always the monster, that was evident when I read the book in my early 20โs I couldnโt understand Victorโs hatred. Not a fan of the condescension around having kids though. I think that it is self defeating, and has too much in common with evangelical concepts of being a sinner just for being human.

Its a complicated subject, I had a great mother and a terrible father, I'm a trans lesbian, I don't know if I'll have kids. But I would want one. To care for a little girl or boy of my own, to teach them what I know and learn from them, to not repeat the sins of the past, in hopes they do better then me, I love that. The world is so messy and awful, but I refuse to be dragged down and think nothing matters anymore. Sorry it just, I had a fairly negative reaction to it.
