So in a way Alaric does not remember that specific conversation that they had cuz she told him forget that she was there, but told him how he can move on and that will stick with him.

2021-02-05 00:26:04 +0000 UTCFor a lot of reasons the fact that Damon nor Stefan know NOTHING about the existence of werwolves at this point in time is definitely sort of as close to a plothole as we're going to get. TVD is really tight in terms of logic but to me this never made any sense for some spoilish reasons i'm not going to talk about and more obvious ones.... The main one is they are both over 1century and a half in age, the fact that werwolves exist within supernatural communities and btw as you'll find out not as rare as it's stated in this episode to me indicates they should know about them...More importantly Stefan and Damon both interacted with vampires FAR older than they are, Lexi, Anna, Pearl and many many other ones which won't be disclosed, the fact that another supernatural species never came in a conversation is ridiculous, and don't tell me no other vampire they talked to knew about the werwolves...But it's ok...I guess I know why they did for them to find out about them same time than the audience. BTW you seem confused, Isobel never compelled Alaric to forget everything about her, all she told him was that he won't have to be haunted by her memory and won't obsess over her and will stop looking for her because it was ruining his life and she wanted to keep him from continuing to chase after her, so his memories are intact

The writers of this show, in regard of any situation always answer to the question, how that would feel, how would it be in reality? The show never romanticize anything or make anything unrealistic.....and I will say no more....
