The Smengel plague angel paint off
Added 2023-08-22 03:14:24 +0000 UTCHey everyone, been a while. Things been super busy with the paints and other work stuff. I won't bore you with all that, this patterns about painting. So... about a week ago Don Suratos messaged me, asking if I wanted to compete in a paint off challenge with him. For those of you unfamiliar with Don, Don is a fantastic artist. He posts videos on his YouTube channel as well as has his own Patreon. Full disclosure? Horrified best describes my reaction. Don has been one of those artists I've looked to for inspiration for many many years. And here he is, askinge to go one on one with him. Call it imposter syndrome but I do not believe I'm that good of an artist. I'm much better at making the paint than using it. But...I'm Irish, we're a stubborn lot. So I said, sure let's do this. Inside I was screaming oh shit oh shit oh shit. The terms are simple. We each have one of the limited edition Smengel Plague Angel from Creature Caster. The model can't be more than primed, we can only use cuttlefish colors and we have to finish by Sept. 15th. Easy right? Yeah...no. Three days ago a third contender entered the fight. Taylor, from creature caster. Another really awesome artist. So, here we go right? Let's see what kind of mess I can make of it lol. I'll try and post up WIP photos as much as I can. Any words of encouragement or criticism are definitely welcome!
