I had always thought that Brock was black even though my stepdad is a tanned Asian. I had just assumed it was due to him always golfing and not a built in feature of Asians at all. I learned later on in my life that the tan skin and squinted eyes is what makes it an Asian stereotype. I had figured that it was an anime thing and not an Asian thing as I only ever see this drawn in anime to show how mysterious a character is. I can’t tell if it’s everything else misleading me or if I was just plain unaware as a kid.

2025-06-14 05:14:34 +0000 UTCSeriously, why wasn't Tracey given a Smeargle? Tracey's whole thing is sketching Pokémon and Smeargle's signature is Sketch. Heck, it'd make more sense for Tracey to have Smeargle than Venonat since Misty's not scared of it for no explainable reason. My favorite Pokémon keeps getting screwed over.
