Weekly Post - Rebooting & Early

Hey folks,

It's been a few weeks since our last post, hasn't it? Well, it's finally here. BeamNG dropped their new alpha 0.33 game update and their T-Series is finally finished, or so they claim. The moment we've been waiting for is here, and we are going to make full use of it. We're sorry you had to wait this long, but fret no more. We're back. But it's not all fun and games, we also have some not so happy things to talk about.

Gavril T-Series Expansion Pack - Reassessed development plans

That's right, we reassessed our development plans. Why? Because of the content that BeamNG dropped of course! The base game T-Series now has many of the things we wanted to add, so we're going to port all of the new goodies. Well, you knew that already, so what did we actually change to our update development plans? Glad you asked! Here's an overview:

Initial Plans

3.0.0x - Initial Release
3.0.1x - Minor Update, already released
3.0.2x - Bunch of items, porting game parts
3.0.3x - More parts
3.1.0x - Major wheel update
3.2.0x - V8 update
3.3.0x - 90's update
3.4.0x - Aussie Update

New plans
3.0.0x - Initial Release
3.0.1x - Minor Update, already released
3.1.0x - Major Update, bunch of items, porting game parts
3.1.1x - More parts
3.2.0x - Aussie Update
3.3.0x - 90's Update

As you can see, the V8 update has been canceled. For good reason, the base game T-Series already has it! So, it moves up the timeline and becomes part of the next upcoming update, 3.1.0x, along with everything else BeamNG added. Here's a preview:

How's the future of GMTI looking?

"Grim. Doubtful. What is a good word to use here... Unmotivated, perhaps? The reality is, each and every one of our staff members are increasingly finding less time and/or motivation to mod in BeamNG. Our lives are changing and so is the world. What used to be fun and doable is turning into a chore. And it has nothing to do with the things GMTI does, it has everything to do with our private lives. Look around in the BeamNG modding scene, we're the old boys. Many modders, from what I have come to understand, are youngsters. We can't compete, not because of lack of talent, but because our lives don't give us the time to mod as hard as we used to. And the, dare I say it, bullshit that has happened in the community causing it to be as it is now, doesn't help either. No activity in our Discord server, both from us and from the community, makes me feel like we're not wanted. I know that isn't the case, but knowing one thing and feeling another, are two separate things. So, to come back to the original question, how is the future of GMTI looking? Uncertain. It depends. Which is why I planned a Q&A stream on Wednesday, to see if there even is a glimmer of chance left in engaging with the community, because that is what we need the most right now. Finishing thoughts

Both great news and some sad news today. For now, we'll do what we can to develop updates, but it isn't looking good. What we want the most is not your support, but your engagement. Join in on the stream and engage with us!
