Weekly Post | Some more about GMTI-X

Hey there dear patrons,

In this week's weekly post, we will tell you some more about what role GMTI-X and the GMTI-X store will play in the future of GTG Modding Team International and what its effects will be on the Patreon page. We will also tell you about how we are changing the way we operate.

We hope that last week's post created some hype regarding GMTI-X and the future of the GTG Mods Team.

Let's get cracking on the first subject:

Changes in operations

Earlier this year we nearly went under and almost closed our doors forever because our Founder wasn't up to the task. That is when the community took matters into their own hands and created a GoFundMe to help save the GTG Mods Team. Since then, the Founder and his team have been in much better spirits. While not much modding work has gone underway just yet, a lot of work is going on behind the scenes.

It was during the time of the fundraiser when the Founder had said that it's all-or-nothing. If the goal wasn't met, then the GTG Mods Team would be gone forever. Luckily, the community succeeded in funding the fundraiser.

The result, therefore, is that the Founder is making GTG Modding Team International his full-time job and will come up with ways to turn the team into a profitable business. This requires a shift in the way we do things and (sadly for the community, but hear us out first) means that future projects will therefore be paid content. Prices for paid projects are yet to be determined, but they will be very acceptable and reasonable, and will almost definitely not exceed 4.95 USD. Our main motto hasn't changed, however; Quality over Quantity, always.

Everything about this takes a considerable amount of resources, and the community has proven to want us to exist. We hear you, and we will make sure we can grow stronger and better than ever before.

What role will GMTI-X play?

GMTI-X, our upcoming scratch-built website, will replace the current website with a new URL; https://www.gtgmodsteam.com. The new website will be a significant upgrade over the current one, and it will feature our store and wiki as well. Our community will remain where it is, nice and established on Discord.

What will the GMTI-X store be?

The GMTI-X store, or simply our webshop, is where you will be able to buy and download our upcoming paid projects. In this very same store, you will be able to buy *new* merchandise as well. And this is the part where the webshop will affect our Patreon page: any member of the Gold, Platinum, and Diamond tiers will receive discount codes that regenerate every month. They will apply to *every product* available in the store and will apply to your entire shopping cart. The exact discount percentages are known in-house, but we will disclose those later. One hint, Diamond members can get nearly half off the product's price!

Upon launch, the product stock and merchandise options will be limited, and shipping will be expensive (nothing we can do about that for now sadly)

More details regarding the GMTI-X store will be disclosed at a later date.

Progress on the Gavril T-Series Expansion Pack

We've had progress on the Gavril T-Series Expansion Pack & GTG Commons Mod this week. We're developing new couplers (Pintle Hook and Eye) in preparation for pulling multiple trailers which would become possible with the probable release of the General Purpose Trailer Pack at the end of this year (Q4 2023 is the plan)

We've also discovered DaddelZeit's Lua code that checks if all the prerequisite mods are installed and enabled. If we get permission to use this, we hope this will prevent the endless question of "Why is this not working?" and the like. We would then incorporate this code into every project that has requisite mods.

Besides this, we have also been working on tidying things up and fixing some issues in relation to normal maps and skinning. This, of course, is good news.

Final words

We will uncover more information about GMTI-X, and more specifically the GMTI-X store and what it has to do with the Patreon page and the evolution of GTG Modding Team International in the coming weeks.

For now though, please bear with us as we progress toward getting everything back up and running and finally fulfill the promise of rising stronger than ever before.
