I think that Dean was 4 or 5 when his mom died, so Dean actually had a happy childhood until his mom died when Sam was 6 months old…so in a way subconsciously or not Dean must think that his mom died because of Sam and that without Sam life would’ve been happy. They really like to bring the feelings big in this show!!!

2025-05-22 11:35:23 +0000 UTCthere were quick flashes on the screen when Grandpa came and when the mom was talking to sam & dean that placed the 1st incident at one year before the 2nd one, so it probably was christmas eve when santa grandpa was putting presents under the tree.
