You and Me Make Three - Chapter 4 Sneak Peek

Lena woke up for the third day in a row in Kara’s bed, with tangled hair and a glorious ache between her thighs from keeping two alphas satisfied. It had been weeks since her heat ended, but none of them could keep their hands off of each other, and when she was in the presence of both at the same time, her libido refused to be denied. 

She could be in the middle of an important conference call at L-Corp, or even worse, surrounded by all of her board members, and if Kara and Rara stepped foot in the building, she tripped over her words and came up with fast excuses to end conversations.

More than once, after such incidents, Lena had sat in Kara’s lap in her office chair with the alpha’s cock nestled deep inside of her, while Rara stroked her hair and kept her mouth completely occupied.

They had all been cohabiting for weeks now, living between Kara’s apartment and Lena’s as they settled into a routine that she considered sweet, domestic and wonderful — at least until she had slipped into an extreme state of exhaustion. 

Lena craved her alphas to the point it was becoming debilitating, and it didn’t help that they both had much more stamina than her.



That was why when she glanced at the clock, Lena wasn’t as startled as she could have been to discover she had slept past ten. 

She heard the sounds of clattering pots and pans down the hall in the kitchen. 

Assuming that Rara was up to her usual antics of searching for a snack, Lena slipped out of bed to stage an intervention. 

As she padded to the end of the hall, she noticed Kara crouched down and holding onto the doors of a low cabinet. She seemed deep in thought, but Lena’s arrival jolted her out of it.

 

“Lena,” Kara nervously chuckled and scrambled to shove all of the stray pots and pans back where they belonged. She stood up, wiping her hands on her jeans and pushing at the glasses on her nose. “You looked so peaceful sleeping this morning and neither of us wanted to wake you. I let Rara run to the store by herself. Those long talks we’ve been having about independence and life skills are really paying off. I mean — not paying off, literally – because Rara did max out my charge card twice this month at the ‘store of delicious foods,’ but at least she’s stopped doing things like sampling all of the snacks on the shelves, and freeing all of the lobsters from the seafood section. Or like that one time when she came home with a puppy. I still feel really bad about that, but I would have felt even worse if we hadn’t returned the dog to his actual owners.” 

Kara had a charming tendency to ramble, and Lena just propped her hip against the counter and listened with a delighted and seductive grin on her face. She stepped closer to Kara afterwards, and the alpha pulled her into an embrace and a kiss that made her heart patter.

“I’ll re-consider my stance on getting her a dog, but hey – while we’re alone here, this is a good time to talk about us,” Lena proposed and gauged Kara’s reaction, who had been evasive every time she tried to bring this up – at least as far back as Christmas, when they first started sleeping together. 

Kara flustered easily and attempted to duck away, but Lena had her in her clutches and she wasn’t about to miss this opportunity for them to talk about their relationship. 

“How do you feel about this whole situation?” Lena asked, narrowing her eyes in curiosity as she followed the changing emotions on Kara’s face, which shifted faster than the colors in a kaleidoscope. “I keep trying to check in with you and we never actually discuss it. I’m worried about jealousy—”

Kara chose that moment to use her superior strength to gently extract herself, and then she took two steps backwards like she still planned to skip out on the conversation altogether. 

“I don’t — I don’t think we really need to talk about it, Lena.” Kara shrugged, her behavior so suspicious that Lena began to wonder if the alpha was keeping another secret from her.

Lena’s chin jutted out in disagreement and she gestured a bit frantically as Kara went back to her rummaging.

 

“Why not?” Lena asked and scrunched her brows together, much more eager to get information out of Kara now that it was clear she wanted to avoid discussing this subject.

 

Kara dropped her head abruptly and then swung around to face Lena again. 

“Fine,” Kara huffed and crossed her arms as she launched into a detailed explanation of how she felt. “I was really jealous at first, but as weird as it might sound, it doesn’t feel like I’m watching you with someone else when you’re with Rara. I know she’s part of me, and yet logically we’re two separate people, but whenever I talk to her it’s just like —  I don’t know – like being in my own head.  I was alone for years as a kid, and I spent a lot of time having whole conversations with myself. Talking to her…  it's a little bit like that. It’s comfortable, and when she’s touching you, it’s like — like I can feel that too, Lena.”

Kara’s voice cracked and a rare flicker of her trauma crossed her face before she forced a smile and a pained laugh. “This might not be the relationship either of us expected to have and don’t get me wrong, I definitely like being alone with you. I feel possessive from time to time, and I can’t imagine what it will be like if I go into a rut, but right now I don’t want anything to change. I’m genuinely happy with the way things are between us.”
 

Lena had always wondered what Kara’s formidable years had been like, locked away in a pod in deep space with nothing but debris and darkness around her. She sensed a little vulnerability from Kara after discussing it, and Kara overcompensated by putting her hands on her hips in that familiar Supergirl pose. Thick assertive alpha scents wafted in the air, enough to leave Lena weak kneed and searching for the nearest stool to sit on.
