WACUP 2024 Look Back & Beta Build 1.99.24.20678

After the 'fun' of a month ago I've finally got a new beta build up (changelogs for it as normal are at https://getwacup.com/changelog/). This won't be going up as a new preview build since its too close to the holidays now & there's some aspects needing more testing & there's a few things I've still got to resolve that were reported against build 20202 (don't worry if I've not responded to some of those bug reports as they're in my list & will be getting around to them soonish).

2024 overall has felt like a bit of a weird year when its come to making WACUP as some of the 21 builds for mostly small coding issues were a major headache & set things back. Thankfully things overall especially with stability have been moving in the right direction but there's always more that can be done towards that & it'll still remain as one of the top goals for the builds in 2025 & after that.

The 64-bit build finally going up in September despite missing a number of features compared to the preferred 32-bit build wasn't too much of an issue in the end it seems with it now a mostly usable 2.9x like player being a big step with the project. I should've made more of that happening in hindsight vs the somewhat silent drop of it though people not reading notes is still too common (aka "why don't my skins work in it" support issues despite the help messages).

Overall as long as the builds are generally moving in the right direction then that's all I can really do & whilst looking back at all of the build changelogs from this year it feels like I've been going in the right direction which I hope will continue with next year's work on this.

For everyone who's been around this year & prior & given feedback or support or just lurked following things, thank you.

Not quite. I didn't do anything for first 2 weeks & the 2 weeks since have been a gradual increase in time spent from just a few hours a day to up to 2 blocks of a few hours. That's a lot less than I was doing before things & is what seems to work for my concentration levels.

Thanks for the update and Happy Holidays!

Out of the hospital and straight back to coding, eh?
