Season's Greetings!
In celebrating the month of October, I'm continuing this train of discarded drafts/attempts on the long road to developing Cannibal October!
Here is another attempt I had made somewhere around 2020 which I had also called Wild Child. Obviously I hadn't gotten very far before I had taken myself away from it for whatever reason.
Truthfully over the years I'd made so many attempts and concepts and tries at this story that I didn't even remember making this one, not one bit! It was a surprise!
The following is a list of things I noticed; A slow evolution to the current day's version, cute details, etc.!
Here you can see that the main character was still going by the name "Sanzu," not yet "October/Tobey."
The idea of having the MC possess a fire-making prosthetic seems to have sparked up! In here, he seems to have black nails from filing them on some sort of mineral that enables him to use his nails like flint for starting fires!
The MC's jealous nature and codependency issues seemed to have cropped up around this time! I didn't know I'd had that idea in mind for so long!
Looks like I had drawn the MC in a basic, topless outfit and had been in the process of going backwards and redrawing the panels to have a more clothed outfit? Random panels crop up of the MC having a totally different outfit at times!
I can see that I'd started trying to moderate the amount of detail I put into the artwork, compared to the other "Wild Child" comic where it was overly abundant!
How very interesting, and quite humbling to see my old artwork and attempts at telling a story! Especially after stopping so short after starting!
And I know there's so many more drafts to come!

I’ve been working on it for about six months now. it’s about a mage who lived in a forest. The setting is a crime fantasy with a lot of folklore. After people from the city burn down a portion of the forest, causing her to lose her brother. She leaves the forest and uses what money she has to purchase an abandoned Restaurant. You need to make sure to make the right choices when talking to characters because if you don’t, they can stalk you, murder, or torture you, or kill other people in the game. While you play you look for clues while talking to the criminals and murderers in your restaurant . When you get enough evidence, you can enact your revenge by blackmail, murder, or other means. The game is called a fox among wolves and I’ve gotten some of the coding scenes done so far.

XD I probably told you already but Cannibal October is my favorite original work of yours so these feel like treats LOL Thank *you* for indulging us with these. And I see, the moon is his sort of Blue Fairy/Jiminy Cricket! That only makes this sweeter ahhh XDD Jealous Zuzu over the Sun... I wanna hug him, even if it might have cost me an ear hehe

From what I recall about this, I didn’t have any real folklore particularly in mind, rather the MC was a lone boy making up things in the world around him- the moon’s character would have been something he made up for company, mostly there to confirm his own thoughts or biases, and to be his inner voice and morals projected! Thank you so much for giving me more of your perspective!! I imagine Zuzu pictured the sun as the moon’s enemy because he might be jealous that it can be up in the sky with his precious moon and he can’t!!! TTOTT LMAO!

Only instead of the sun and moon being lovers or siblings they're enemies and I love that. I also adore Zuzu's outfit with it's tribal designs on the next to last page! I honestly love the first draft more but this one equally holds a deep appreciation for it's almost spiritual and supernatural connotations. I don't know if Blup is a real entity at all but that's a major part of the appeal ^^ Poor Zuzu crying though over having to share the moon... that really pulled at my heart strings <3<3 And the mineral on the nails is such a unique feature I'd love to see you use that again somewhere! If there's more drafts to be had I hope you share them, this is not only fun but very enlightening too ahhh
