Festive Family Dinner

Heeeeeere it is folks, the finished FCFS-contest pic for the lucky lykron! :D

I got a lot of artistic freedom on this one, which certainly helped a lot since I was afraid of running into a bit of a time-issue due to some family stuff needing to be dealt with ^^
Basically the concept given was just “2 wolfguys tied to highchairs, being fed during family dinner”, and I went through various different approaches before I landed on this one.

Highchairs always feel like drawing almost a whole character in terms of effort, so I was worried I'd need to fiddle around a lot to make sure I can deliver something halfway decent, but after a lot of playing around I managed to get just the right mix of scales, perspective and themes for it to be effective! “Draw little, imply much” was the philosophy on this one, since I otherwise would've ended up spending 3 days on just the chairs alone xD
Since I “zoomed in” quite a bit here though I had just about enough time to actually work on a caretaker character as well, plus some additional fun details, without the canvas ending up too crowded, which felt necessary when I looked over my first sketch. I want these FCFS pics to be something special so it wouldn't have felt good to take shortcuts :)

Lykron also specifically mentioned the tasty food, so I wanted to put some extra energy into that as well. It serves both as visual appetizers and a reminder that there are, in fact, various people sitting on the table, and we're just seeing the Mom (?) and the two bois.
Added a young lady in the background too shortly before the end, just to strike home the whole “family” aspect even more.
Also tried some darker shadows than usual, for that particular kitchen/dining room look ^^

Well then, huge congratulations again to Lykron, and IMMENSE thanks for his continued support! Really means the world to me, and I hope this little pic manages to express my gratitude to a degree <3


This also ALMOST concludes the month, and as per usual I am absolutely blown away by you guys.
Thank you all so very much for staying around, for the nice comments, and everything else you do!
I can definitely feel these boosts of motivation every day and my productivity is at an all-time-high!

Got 1 more little thing planned for tomorrow, so stay tuned for that, and then I'll dive straight into the next pic which I'm already looking forward to very much, because it's been poking me in the eye for weeks now xD
