Added 2023-05-24 13:31:31 +0000 UTCBAM! i managed to stay on theme and draw some merfolk stuff this may! sure, last year i designed a couple of mermen for may’s monster of the month (nsfw & sfw) but i’m otherwise pretty bad at drawing seasonal art lol.
here is a frilled shark merman; bigfin squid merperson; phantom jellyfish mermaid; and an octopus merman. i’m really happy with all of them, especially the creepy bigfin squid person and the phantom jellyfish lady with her tang dynasty dress.
(also it was so much fun to just go ham and design a few "random" characters with a shared theme, so that’s something i might do again? like maybe i’ll draw a bunch of forest spirits based on specific plants, or harpies inspired by different birds!)

these designs are soooo cool oh my goddd. If you don't mind, what brush do you use for colouring? I looove the way you've done the color transition in the 'skirt' of the octopus
