HTM13: *check back soon*

[[ gonna have to push the deadline for HTM13 just a little bit further. the tutorial is coming along nicely, but i've been overworking myself again so i'm gonna halt myself before i crash and burn and gracefully give myself a few more days to finish it. i'm making this post to keep you all in the loop and be transparent -- my new goal is to finish HTM13 by may 7th or earlier. i'll update this post with the proper banner & attached file once it's all done, so you might get a notification about it through e-mail or on the app -- but i will also send a DM to all $10+ patrons once i publish the finished tutorial, because i want to make sure you all see it when it's here! :> THANK YOU for the patience & understanding -- i appreciate it so much <3 <3 <3 

may 7th update: ok so quite frankly things are pretty rough rn & my mental health is terrible. turns out i still need more time to finish a tutorial i can be proud of rather than rushing it just to get it over and done with. please be patient with me as i work on getting shit back under control & finish up what i've started ;n;

update again: still working on HTM13 (it's going well, just slow!) but at this point i have to *also* make sure i create & post other types of content/art *too*. i can't put everything else completely on hold until the tutorial is finished, because i need to start ticking things off of my May to do-list. so basically i'm going to work on several pieces of content simultaneously, and may finish smaller things (like early access art and sketchdumps) before the tutorial, simply because they take less time to complete. so if you see me posting drawings or sketches or even MOTM content before publishing the finished tutorial, do not be alarmed -- i am not forgetting about or neglecting HTM13, i'm just working on several things at the same time and posting them in the order in which they're finished. i hope that makes sense, but if you have any questions about the whole thing, please just comment below!

update again again / status report: it's may 29th and right now, the most important tasks on my to do-list is the may MOTM content and HTM13. but quite frankly i can't finish *both* these projects in the 3 days that remain of may. i really don't want to delay *four* MOTM posts, so i've decided on the following plan: i'll spend the next 3 days making sure that i meet the may 31st deadline for the may MOTM content. (and IF i have any leftover time in may, i might use it to draw some topical mermay smut -- but that's a big IF.) then i'll resume work on HTM13 on june 1st, and tailor my schedule around finally getting it done. hope that sounds good! <3 

update again again again: okay, i know this is getting ridiculous and i feel absolutely fucking terrible about the delay. i haven't struggled this much with finishing a project since my master's thesis and it's been hard to pinpoint why, because i've been really excited about the topic and as mentioned above, it's been going well. but perhaps part of the problem is that it's been going too well, in the sense that i kept having more and more ideas for things i wanted to discuss in the tutorial. i've literally ended up with over 30 pages of raw text (+ sketches) that i've been trying to turn into a digestible, 5-10 page PDF, which gradually turned into something incredibly overwhelming, anxiety-inducing, and difficult to manage. it finally hit me that the problem is that "expressions and body language" is too big and broad a topic for a single tutorial -- and so i've decided that the best solution is to turn it into a tutorial series. i'm planning three parts -- facial expressions (HTM13), body language (HTM14), and nsfw expressions/body language (HTM15). as always, i'll do an exercise sheet for each tutorial and then with HTM16 we'll be back to voting on the topic as usual. it feels like a weight has been liften from my shoulders because dividing the topic into three parts turns an overwhelmingly huge project into three way more manageable ones. i've also decided that at this point i might as well make a wholly new post for HTM13 when it's finished, instead of updating this one/sending a DM -- so please stay tuned!]]
