so about the $3 process videos - again ...
Added 2020-12-26 16:41:54 +0000 UTCshort version: i have decided to stop doing $3 process videos. (but i will still post a monthly process video to the $5 tier.)
long version: back in may i ran a poll re: the future of the $3 process posts. in july, i decided to keep posting videos but without the lengthy commentary i used to write. now it's december and i must admit that editing two process videos each month still takes up too much time that i'd rather spend creating art. i'm also still struggling with my mental health and still often feel stressed, so i finally accepted that i need to lighten my workload a bit.
this decision is based on patreon feedback as follows: back in the may poll, a lot of people voted for "i like the $3 process posts but it's fine with me if you change them/stop doing them" and "i don't care about the process posts either way, so do what you want tbh." according to a more recent poll re: your favourite type of content, the process videos are in fact the least popular. ofc that doesn't mean that nobody appreciates them -- but i do think it means that i shouldn't prioritise editing process videos over drawing, sketching, and painting.
so, i am hereby removing the monthly process video from the $3 tier, effective immediately. (the one that i just posted will be the last). by removing one process video from my monthly to do-list, i hope to feel less stressed about creating my usual content -- and to have more time for making art. (at the moment my favourite thing is drawing sketches of cute character interactions, and i also want to write more nsfw short stories in 2021.)
(note that nothing is changing about the monthly process video i post to the $5 tier, as part of my 'monster of the month' content. these videos come with commentary in which i discuss the creation of the piece in question. i also post more behind-the-scenes stuff about each monthly monster (i.e. a concept sketch + a discussion about their design) that might be enjoyable for anyone who likes process videos. in other words i think that the $5 content is a more "complete package" of behind-the-scenes stuff, which makes it more fun for me to work on and more informative.)
thank you, as always, for the understanding & support. <3 i'm trying to listen to your feedback as much as i listen to the needs of my body and brain. seeing the results of the aforementioned polls makes me feel ok about making one process video per month instead of two, and i hope you feel the same way!
