TOOL “Vicarious” REACTION

https://youtu.be/to72IJzQT5k?si=qw3q3Kf8XVsBsfq3 I completely agree that it’s a symptom of the times we are living in! Hopefully you can find some answers in this documentary. I certainly did!

Regarding people not reacting to violence—something very disturbing happened in Poland last month. At Warsaw Uni, a student killed a woman with an axe and then began eating her. It took place in front of many students. Instead of helping, a number of them simply watched; some started recording videos. Even more horrifying, those videos were later posted on Twitter and, obviously, went viral. I was utterly shocked by this behavior—I couldn't stop thinking about it for hours. And I believe that most of us like to imagine we'd act morally in a such situation. In general, pople tend to assume they’re better than they actually are. But reality may look very different, due to shock, fear, survival mode etc. I also feel like people are so fixated on social media rn, that their first instinct is to pull out their phone and film stuff, just becauseit's shocking. Something like behavioral pattern. Obviously, it doesn’t make it okay—it’s just kind of a messed-up reflection of the world we live in right now. Anyway, great reaction as always. Now I’m so curious about this topic, I’ve got to dig into some research papers to discover WHY

I love every Tool album and every song in their catalog... but 10,000 days is special and hands down their best work. Maynard really dug deep on this album and opened up a part of himself and his life to his fans that was and is to this day incredibly powerful. It is (like all of their albums) an incredible journey - but also one that tears you apart and makes you question many aspects of life, self and spirit and family.
