BTS Silver Spoon REACTION

V… Excuse me brev?!

BTS Silver Spoon REACTION

Comments

Great reaction tiddy-grey-tit ! Baepsae is so fun and the meaning is quite interesting too. I think the short legs thing is kind of carried through with the "hurry, chase them" line which is repeated in the chorus part, like they have to run and try hard to catch up but now they've earned that name of a tryhard because they have worked hard to get where they are and do what they do,, that's my interpretation at least, not sure on the factuality of it lol

Yasuwu

I'm cracking up at your reaction to Suga's first line🤣🤣🤣 You're the most genuine reactor I've seen👏👏👏 Love how you went from cracking up at "some birds do have 'em" to getting the actual analogy🤣 You're too awesome!!!

Rozaliyah

Honestly I would recommend 'Jump', it's a similar track in the sense that is more hip hop and rap heavy, and also V's part is absolutely iconic

massimo nichele

Thanks for the reaction Teddy! If you want another different style from BTS try Dis-ease - such a nice laid back, old school rap feel and great vocals too!

Grace

Can't wait, it's Hobi's Birthday!!!💜🎉🎉 And "Hope On the Street" is COMING SOON!!!! I have been looking forward to this and very, very excited to for his new songs from the project to come out. And of course we all know when we think of this song, Baepsae, one of the first things we think of is Hobi for his dancing during this songs performance! Another iconic song known for Hobi being a our dancing machine!!!💜💜💜

Irene (DragonsWrathxxx)

Thanks for the reaction Teddy i loved it💜 U would’ve liked it even more if u added the choreography dance video too cuz its so funny😂

Amaya💜

Thanks for the reaction Teddy, I jumped when I saw the notification for this. This one of my favorite songs from them. Like you said, every generation says "Well back in my day" I think it's because humans will remember the feelings of being stressed or having to fight through hard times, and it's hard for a lot of people to see others feel the same because you're just trying to survive your own life. Add in the perception that things should be better than the past, or easier with advances in technology. But more pressure is added because things are "supposed" to be easier. And Korea in general has a VERY competitive culture. I agree with another comment someone made about being ready for Spring Day, it's heavy if you look into the event it talks about. So many officials passed the responsibility on who would take charge in the Sewol ferry sinking, that 304 people died, including around 250 high school kids. Like they were intentionally left to die. It's insane.

SingingRazors

it's pronounced bep-say

joydarling

Love this reaction. Awesome how you figured out the crow tit vs stork reference. Can't wait for the cyphers. After you do those please watch the cypher medley performance at wembley

Lala23

Thanks again for another BTS reaction 💜 a lot of army are already explaining a lot to you. So I just wanted to say thank you again for taking a chance on their music! Their older stuff is definitely going to be more of your liking, the new stuff is them definitely branching out and trying different genres. A lot of their ballad songs are really nice as well. Hope you get to those eventually 💜

Ale

Oh dude. Sooo. In case no one warned you. You need to prepare yourself to watch Spring Day. The song is about the Sewol ferry tragedy that happened in Korea. And it’s absolutely heartbreaking. The video is beautifully done and doesn’t reference the ferry disaster directly, because if they did BTS knew they would get blacklisted and it would never get played. But the explanation video goes through everything. But you need to prepare yourself for what you are getting into. Hundreds of students died in the disaster. Just know that going in.

Purple-People-Hater

Also don’t worry about how long the video is. We would watch you watching BTS for 3hours and still cry for more.

Purple-People-Hater

Also wanted to say that your random little tangents are one of the reasons why your channel is the only reaction channel I keep coming back to. You're insightful and entertaining and I enjoy hearing your thoughts. I've been watching you since you first stumbled upon skz, back then I myself wasn't listening to BTS because I was actively avoiding them lol. Anyway, they have somehow managed to find me and then drag me by the neck into the ARMY fandom. No complains from me tho, what an absolute blessing it has been!💜

KALISKA

In Korea they have a species of very small bird which they call a crow tit or baepsae. They have a saying in Korea “a crowtit following a stork will tear its legs.” Which is what they are referencing in the song. Dkdktv has a great video explaining the song. The song is really about the divide between the younger and older generation, especially in expectations and pressures placed on the newer generations. This is one of their older songs. BTS has a lot of songs that are more focused on the political and societal issues that they see and struggle with. Korea has one of the highest suicide rates for young people in the world, and a lot of that stems from social, and familial pressure to succeed and be beautiful. I think that’s one of the reasons that BTS grew so popular with its fans was the message behind their songs. It was always be who you want, and love yourself.

Purple-People-Hater

Please do Born SInger live ...thank you so much

Ιωάννα Αλεξιάδη

BTS often call themselves as 뱁새 (crow-tits; pronounced baepsae): underdogs, those who started with disadvantages. (They nonetheless refuse to frame themselves within the limit of crow-tits. They rather challenge the norm and gladly split their legs. Though it’s painful and takes a whole lot more of efforts, they do succeed in walking along, or even past, storks.) 황새 (storks; pronounced hwangsae) in this context means those who are born with advantages. The contrast highlights the severe socioeconomic inequality in Korea. They might have decided to title it Silver Spoon in English to emphasize that this song is about socioeconomic inequality and injustice.

BTSOT7

I swear you were doing the official choreo a couple times there🤣 You should totally watch either a dance practice or a live performance as well. Namjoon once said that the highest level of mastery when it comes to song writing for him is being able to write a personal story in a universal way, which is honestly how most of their songs sound like. That's why they have such a broad reach.

KALISKA

Being a V stan I am always so impressed by his different timbres of voice and that's what makes his charm! I don't think you're finished being impressed by him

Riyaaaa

Why didn't you include dance practice and explanation... awesome reaction ✌

Samantha May

BTS refer to themselves as Baepsaes (crow-tit) quite often. The song is pretty old - 2015, so yes they had no idea what was coming for them. This, along with Idol, I think deserve to watch an explanation video. You got the meaning though, even while dancing J-hope's fav dance move :D. BTS's themes are often with complex analogies. They have a song from a whale perspective about youth loneliness, a song from Pluto's perspective when it got declassified as a planet, RM's poetry talent shines in their lyrics. There is even a song where they call out the fans like "bruh, don't be so obsessed with me, go study". Most songs are personal stories, thoughts of the society and the pressure from it, self love, friendship, etc. They've got their motivational songs yes, but since they've fulfilled their dreams and being on top their newer ones are mostly "we were kids who just loved music, how did we get here".

Kill Bill

Thank you for the reaction! Another one I think you’ll love is Spinebreaker (especially the live version). That song has a lot of symbolism as well 🫰🏼💜

Zo

Yes, please

Magdalena

His rapping voice actually reminded me of Binnie a little so I think V might be on his way to wrecking a bias tbh 👀

Teddy Grey

V has such a versatile voice it’s crazy. He can switch from a soft and soulful voice to a raspy and strong one in an instant lol

Lena Marie

here is the explanation https://youtu.be/RP4Qbh2rXFU?si=6XGo69uxLO-LQWOf 🖖🏻

Nikola Křivínková

People told me their lyrics would make me think, but nobody warned me of the comedic value. They’re the gift that keeps on giving 😂🤌

Teddy Grey

If you guys had told me a year ago that BTS had a song called “crow tit” I would’ve probably done all of these reactions sooner lmao

Teddy Grey

A crow-tit is a very small cute bird

Beans

Teddy, as always, thank you for the reaction. That song is one of my favourites, and honestly, I feel even happier when the videos are longer :) I really enjoy hearing your opinions and dissecting the lyrics and their meanings.

Elnaz

yes.

Katariina

Another great reaction man! Absolutely loved the tangent about the crow tits lmao

Katariina

V!! (from Jump)

princess

the song is actually called crow tit when translating directly to english.

princess

I would say V had the most dramatic style change amongst the members if you compare his parts in BTS songs (esp older ones) and his solo music ITS SO DIFFERENT

W V

You should definitely watch silver spoon dance practice
