No more dream -> Dream

Natles Lesiak

They are indeed speaking in Jungian philosophy. This is from their album Map of the Soul 7. Lot of discussion of the shadow self.

Mark Ballard

New member here, gotta say BBQ base sucks so you're wrong for that,, but I really enjoy hearing your opinions on the songs and choreo !! I'd say try out No More Dream to see were they started from and my personal fave is probably 134340 or Ma City so I'd recommend those :)

Yasuwu

Ohhhh yeeesss please j-hope loolapalooza!!!!

kaktusdani ciaociao

Thank you for reacting to all 3 videos 💜 The choreography one’s are most requested because they show the full skills of the members. And of course the “lives “ . Thanks for being open to this music !

kaktusdani ciaociao

Ok, don't hate me - this isn't a bts recommendation... you have to check out Noga Erez. Female rapper, you'd LOVE her. She did a joint with Missy Elliott called "nails". I got hooked on a video she did with her band on a song called "views" it's better than the mv.

Jessica Whelan

probably other army have pointed out this already, but I always loved how Yoongi tends to take the last Hobi verse and start his verse with that, like Yoongi lot of times starts his verse with the end of Hobi verse. Plus... I love how he usually whispers his name "suga" lot of times before he starts rapping hahaha.

Kawineko

My thoughts while watching and Jung being mentioned, for some reason Armys are familiar with his stuff. There is probably multiple comments that has already told why. Good reaction!

Susi

About Jung, just to tell you this: they have songs: Rm - Persona, Suga - Shadow and J-Hope - Ego. Sounds familiar?

Fritz Sagafri

Perfect explanation Elisabetta, it’s important to know this to fully understand the purpose of this album. A very introspective look at where they have come from and where they were at the time. Whole thing completely based on the theory of Carl Jung. Teddy you got that bang on, haven’t seen another reactor pick that up so quick. But you do come across as a deep thinker. Love your reactions 💜

Figgy

I left some comments on the unlisted YT video with some of the symbolism.

The Talanton

BTS has a few producers, including the former CEO of Big Hit, Bang Si-hyuk. Pdogg and Slow Rabbit are two that have been with them since the beginning, same with their coreographer, Son Song-deuk. I think Pdogg still is their main producer, Slow Rabbit is more with TXT now. All of them have gone through all the hardships with them. RM, Suga and J-Hope always have been involved, especially in solo songs and they always write their raps, which is why they have the most credits. From their title tracks, I think you’ll like Blood, Sweat and Tears, also their first ones are more hip-hop forward, such as No More Dream and We are bulletproof pt. 2. N.O and Dream too. For deep lyricism and symbolism, I’d say Spring Day (be sure to check the explanations behind them, there’s a lot of symbolism and also connected to a real life tragedy that happened in SK) and Butterfly. All the WINGS solos are a must too. As for some “hidden” b-sides I think you’d like: Hip-hop phile/lover, all the Cyphers, Ddaeng (rap line free track as a gift), Baepsae (political statement), Go-go (satirical), Outro TEAR. For Ddaeng and Baepsae, be sure to check the explanations because there’s a lot of word play and symbolism that are specific to Korean culture and language.

Vish

Didn't the big three deliberately try to keep groups distanced from fans prior the BTS to make them seem more "idol" like and unreachable and then BTS blew that notion out of the water?

Lala23

Was there not any stray kids songs that he didnt like?

Nicole

You might now like all of their songs but 100% you will be impressed by the lyrics in most of the songs 💜💜

Duaa Mhmd

BTS and Stray Kids are very different. That's why I love them both. No doubt there will be a few BTS songs you won't like. But they always write from the heart. Their songs for fans are always amazing (magic shop you should definitely check out, lyric vid and live) I also recommend doing a song from the rap line and one from the vocal line. Tear by the rap line. Lyrics and a live. And then Truth Untold by the vocal line lyrics and live. ← it's a ballad and might not be your style but gives you a good insight into their voices.

Naomi H

Just know that we know and understand that a lot of their songs won't be for you. Stray kids are DEFINITELY more your style. But I think they have some songs you will like and for many of those you don't, i think you will find the lyrics or concepts interesting.

Lala23

It would be amazing if you could check out Jhopes lallapalooza set! Has the rap and rock elements to him as a solo artist! Even in your own time as its hella long lol

Sarah wingrove

Ddaeng with the DKDK TV explanation, UGH with the DKDK TV explanation (otherwise you won´t understand the subtle korean cultural references). Cypher 1,2, 3 and 4 to show their growth as rappers. Outro:Tear, Interlude: Shadow, Spine breaker, Intro: Never mind, Silver Spoon, Dis-ease, First Love. That would be my recommendations. Some may only have lyric videos, but the lyrics are what is important anyway. Your ma favorite reactor and finally, finally, at long last you get to my favorite band!

Anna Spohn

No more Dream is bts debut Song.

Emira

Man. You truly don’t have any idea how much the big k-pop companies (outside of what is now bighit) have studied and followed in the steps of BTS. Idols as well. A lot of newer K-pop fans and new-gen group fans don’t grasp how much BTS completely changed the game and had a legendary come up because they want to choose to hate on them from afar. Ironically, their faves will consistently reference, emulate, or praise BTS. Thank fuck I was Army before I explored more k-pop. Every member is so much more complex and multifaceted and peculiar than anyone would ever assume. And so is their music. Don’t even get me started on their stage presence/live performance abilities. Thanks to BTS, I can recognize when another group (especially non k-pop) feels worth my time, when they have potential to offer what BTS has spoiled us with for so many years, or if they can offer something genuinely dope and refreshing. (*cough* hi stray kids hi stays 💜)

Shalala Falala

Teddy Grey BTS playlist name: “Bring The Pain”

Devin Robertson

I agree about the vocal heavy songs. It is frustrating when they get dismissed as ballads or lullabies just because they are softer when the lyrics are often just as hard hitting as the more agressive stuff.

Lala23

100% right on Jung's work. This album series is devoted to his philosophies.

Liz

Please give me a chance to lead you to the best of them !!!! Plz ! If u will react to mic drop please see the choreography toooooooo don’t miss that and if u’ll react to tear choose the live performance in Wembley with the black suit , and if you will react to born singer choose the live and you have to watch not today this one is highly recommended and if you will react to ddaeng you have to see the explanation on dkdktv because u’ll not understand what they are talking about until you see the explanation video and there’s spring day which was written by RM and it’s about tragedy that happened in Korea and I have to say this if Namjoon only wrote this song it would be enough for the rest of his life to make him the best lyricist in the whole world and you should watch the explanation of it too , I’ll let you know about the rest soon .. finally man I’ve been for a decade in your channels waiting for the moment u’ll watch them and u make me subscribe here though I didn’t even have any interest in this app 😂😂😂 all the love .. we purple u 💜💜💜💜

Duaa Mhmd

WAIT AND ALSO - Dis-Ease

W V

songs I think you’ll enjoy - Mic drop - Dionysus (skz coverd it too) - Not Today - Silver spoon (baepsae) - run BTS -Dope

W V

So impressed that you got carl jung so fast. You rock. Their map of the soul album is based on jungian theory. BTS uses tons of symbolism. When you listen to blood sweat and tears that is based on the book damien by Hermann Hess-the symbolism in that one needs an explanation video. Also, Jimin and Taimin are close friends and they are two of the best dancers in k-pop. The songs you will like are: Ugh Cyphers 1-4 Outro tear live at wembley Ddang Bapsae Cypher medley live at wembley Not today Mic drop Fake love Fire Softer songs I think you may like: Louder than bombs Butterfly House of cards The truth untold Blue and grey Sea Your eyes tell Film out Maybe the early BTS hip hop Dope We are bulletproof No More Dream (debut) N.O. Other maybe songs Born singer Hip hop phile Dionysus Also, you heard the dance break in the BTS introduction guide.

Lala23

Hey Teddy! Waiting for your reactions since I voted in that poll well over a year ago! I'm not army so don't know the discography all that well but knowing the type of content you like for SKZ, I suggest a few older songs such as Dope, Fire, Idol and Mic Drop. Maybe Run BTS and their debut song No More Dream? I *think* you like edgier sounding songs which I feel these older ones had more of that than recent songs generally have (no hate please if you disagree!).

VeeDub @ MixedGems

Some classic banger recommendations in comments of ddaeng and silver spoon (in korean: baepsae). With these in particular, I strongly suggest pairing with the DKDKTV lyrics explained vids on YT, subs don't cut it even with your strong intuition of lyric meaning we see from you that other reactors don't have. Looking forward to seeing more! :)

Cherryripe

actually, in the same album, they have 3 solo songs, persona by RM shadow by SUGA, ego by JHOPE

R875d

It’s probably one of their hardest dance routines too! The performance was incredible!!

Nicole

There is a live perfomance of this song where they shut down Grand Central Station in NY to perform ON live on the Jimmy Fallon show. Even if you don't post a reaction to it you should definitely check it out. The ability to rap, sing, and dance that hard is amazing.

LD412

I can’t wait for more I know you will love their songs

Rahima Haque

So refreshing to see new reactions to this songs! 🙏🏻 thank you

Julia H.

Thank you for all three videos! I really liked seeing them all.💜

Irene (DragonsWrathxxx)

The live performance of "Outro: Tear" at Wembley is legendary. And it would just be a shame to miss it. But maybe some one may want to let him know a bit more about the songs basics before though, it completely changes how you see the whole thing, the song, the performance, etc..., when you truly know the why and some of the how (meaning) specifically about how Tear, Tear, and Fear are uniquely used by RM, Suga and Jhope

Irene (DragonsWrathxxx)

During the Choreo Video at the end, you said who came in the green! Lol Thats jhope, our Dance/Performance Leader💜 Cool how you caught on to the Jungian philosophyz rather quickly too, very nice!

Irene (DragonsWrathxxx)

My suggestion to you is to stay away from dynamite, butter and permission to dance for a while 😂 definitely catered for westerners. - Dionysus - run bts - silver spoon (aka baepsae) - born singer( mostly very lyrical, but rap heavy) - ddaeng - cyphers 2 and 3 - mic drop These songs are mostly hip hop based. Thanks again for giving BTS a try! I like how you watch their live performances. BTS never disappoints with live performances ☺️ also let us know where to recommend vocal heavy songs. Some people may find them boring but the lyrics are beautiful. They are some of my favorites.

Ale

dionysus would be great, especially if he watches some live performances of it. it's such a performance song!

Nicole

dis-ease would be a really good one!

Nicole

Definitely recommend Mic Drop and RUN BTS not to be confused with Run by BTS.

Claws

the beat from the dance break was in the intro of the BTS guide!! maybe that's why it sounded familiar to you

v_endd

+ the performance they did in the desert last year was incredible!!!

Nicole

Outro Tear (Live please), Born Singer, Paradise, House of Cards, Film Out

Ιωάννα Αλεξιάδη

You are on target with the Carl Jung influence! Thank you for your reaction 💜💜💜💜

Regina Reggie Dendy

Hey Teddy! Thank you for your videos. You’ve been inundated with several good suggestions, but to add to the mix; -Run BTS -Born Singer -Dope -Ddaeng (rap line song) with explanation video -N.O. -Shadow -Cyphers 1-4

Nadia Shaik

Also I think you’d like born singer! The stage compilation one is rlly nice

Lena Marie

The only BTS song I knew until 1 hour ago is Dynamite (because it was played on German radio a lot). So that’s my recommendation. Now I know three songs and still like dynamite best.

Monstanna

My suggestions that I think you'd enjoy.... Not Today No more Dream (debut song) Bulletproof pt2 Cyphers 1-4 Boy in luv N.O Baepsae Fire Idol Dionysus Blood, sweat and tears Mic drop Fake love Let's just start there for now lol

LINDSEY WARD

Mic Drop & Run BTS

Michele Higgins

I have been waiting for you to try BTS as a group. I do love this song but should definitely try “outro tear” live at Wembley, “louder than bombs” and “Dionysus” mmna live performance.

Clair Suddaby

I think you'll appreciate Born Singer, given your reaction to the song with J-Hope and J. Cole.

SingingRazors

BTW thanks for dipping your toe in 🙏 I always enjoy your reactions as they’re so genuine

Cally P

Try Mic Drop, Not Today, Dionysius. All the Cyphers but especially Cypher 3 live for rap line and House of Cards live for vocal line. My personal favourite is 134340 (but that’s because it’s very 80s groove). Worth watching No More Dream to see how they’ve developed.

Cally P

As a fan of hip-hop I am sure you will appreciate Hip-Hop Lover / Phile. They have a lot of experimental type of songs, there is none that people doesn't like, like every song's got its own fanbase lol. Some are Dionysus (you can check it because SKZ made a short cover of it on a show), Louder than bombs, Run BTS (their most recent hype song, as the rest from that album were really fan songs), Tomorrow, Rain etc. Of course the Cyphers are a must, but as they are rap line songs they can wait a little. Good luck!

Kill Bill

Finally!! Love your reactions and thank you for giving bts a chance. Also I think you’re gonna like “fire” and “bapsae” also known as “silver spoon”. I think you’d enjoy “mic drop” as well. “Fake love” is really good either the lyricism is amazing. I’m rlly looking forward to more bts reactions :)

Lena Marie

You heard this song before in the Guide To BTS. It was the main song of the trailer. The backup dancers are THE LAB, a famous dance group that collaborated on some of BTS's songs. Their performance of this song on Jimmy Fallon's show is also great (I know you don't like him, Lol). Again, thank you for this reaction. Also, you are right about Young theory. There are many symbols in their videos referencing Carl Young's Shadow Philosophy.

Elnaz

No More Dream was their debut song

Cally P

Also, guys...I think it's safe to say Jimin got another one...and we all know what happens when you JimIN🤣

Flavia Dragoș

Bapsae, Idol, Fire, Not today, Spring day, House of cards, Lauder than bombs, Truth untold

Flavia Dragoș

RM is a avid reader and reads a lot of philosophy. You'll see references to this repeatedly in their music and music videos.

SingingRazors

This song was produced by Pdogg, he is the one that also produced "Set me free pt.2" by Jimin. He's been with them since the beginning, he is like the 8th member lol

Straw6erry

Both songs you heard are from the album MOTS7, based exactly on that philosophy. Also "Persona", "Shadow" and "Ego" are featured on it.

Kill Bill

"No More Dream" it's their first single!

Straw6erry

I think you’d really like Dis-ease and paradise. Neither have a music video or dance practice but the lyric videos are good along with live performances from their concerts💜

Zo

Both Black Swan and ON are part of "Map of the Soul: 7" which came out at the beginning of 2020, before COVID their plan was to publish this album, go on a world tour and then enlist, so these songs are about the pressure they were feeling and the fact that they were feeling unsure about their music and their role in the industry due to the huge success they reached back then. They talked about how they felt like they were losing their love for music (Black Swan is mostly about the feeling which felt like dying) because life was running too fast and they were very tired.

Straw6erry

Their album Map of the Soul 7 has 3 Jungian solos by the rap line: Persona, Shadiw and Ego
