This song came at an important time for them, all were thinking about stopping BTS and go there separate ways and felt like that was a form of dieing

I'm glad you enjoyed this song. I agree with everyone's recommendations. But a couple of songs that get left out for rap fans are Home and Paradise. Both are b-sides and not primarily hip hop, but if you're into melodic rap, I think you'd enjoy these!

You may want to check out the art film that came out with this song. The dance was purposeful and once you understand the message they were conveying at the time it may make more sense. 💜

this also was my bts cherry pop (excluding solo tracks and their english tracks). song was fire. would have enjoyed hearing a song without a bunch of autotune, to hear what they actually sound like....but im sure it will come along this journey. i also wanted to hate it. kinda hate that i enjoyed it. lol but their dancing kinda ruined the video for me. very 2000s boy band imo....but the song was still great.

Some songs I think you’d like:
Hip hop Phile
Ddaeng by the rap line
Mic Drop
N.O
Fake love
Dionysus
Save Me which goes into I’m Fine (I prefer I’m Fine and both songs can be listened to as stand alones)
Run BTS (not to be confused with their song Run or their variety show by the same name)
Ugh by the Rap line
Any of the Cyphers (1, 2, 3, and 4) from the rap line
And idk if you’ll necessarily like it but one of my personal favorites is Spring Day it’s just such a meaningful song to me

my suggestions:
- Hip Hop Phile
- Dionysus
- Run BTS (fyi the song is called "Run BTS" not to be confused with the song "Run" by BTS but that song is a banger too tbh)
- Born Singer
- N.O
- Dope
- Mic Drop
- We On
- Fake Love
- Come Back Home
so those are all OT7 songs but i'm sure you will also enjoy most of the rap line stuff like the Cyphers or many people already recommended DDAENG which is also my fav rap line song and yeah you should definitely watch the explanation video by DKDKTV if you react to the song

Oh and one other thing, I think I tried to comment about this during the introduction video, but I think something happened and my comment disappeared before I could send it.
But something I wanted to mention is don't worry about talking too much, or as you said here, what you call your tangents, we like to talk about stuff like that as well, so most likely Army’s won't mind, actually most will probably enjoy it.
Trust me if you are unsure or interested in learning something, please don't be afraid to ask.
Army will be happy to help.
I don't know all the different interactions with Army's you have had before, and I know I have personally found myself on the opposite end of some of your comments before towards BTS, but to that none of us are perfect, and many times I have found that I like you take on lyrics and how you do some of your reactions. I have been watching your dive into rock music, such as metal, etc... and have really enjoyed a lot of it. O think I first joined your patreon to see your Linkin Park full album reviews. I wanted to see the whole review so I joined your patreon. I am a huge rock music person and really always have been, from metal, to hardcore, to emo, to screamo, to alternate rock, hard rock etc...,etc...
So I myself, am an example of some of the different types of Army that manyay not believe are actually real, or just the part of the fact that Army is incredibly diverse. I am in my mid thirties and have been Army for a couple years now. But to that fact, I know that there are many of us who like all different kinds of music, etc....
Including other big rock lovers similar to me.
But back to the other point I wanted to make…..
I can't say you won't have more toxic people calling themselves Army or even just toxic Army's, but we are definitely aware that there are ridiculously toxic people within the fandom. But seeing how we are a fandom that is insanely large we are going to have more toxic ones to deal with just by the numbers. But I hope you will see that, most of us truly aren't like that. Army is a family. We truly care about each other. We truly care about our fandom as well, and quite often if we see toxic behavior we will try to stop it or tell them to take it somewhere else.
As an Army right now, especially since each member of BTS have now released solo projects or albums, we now have quite large numbers of what we can call ‘toxic solo stans’ to contend with as well. And they can be quite a lot to handle. But I think because most of what they say and seem to stand for is very much opposite of what we know to be true, such as how as an Army, a true Army you always support all of the members, and know that no one is more important than any other.
All seven of them are what makes them BTS, its that simple.
They would not be BTS without even one of them.
Not to mention, that the guys themselves, have already clearly made their thoughts and opinions known to not only Army but just in general, and this includes, to my knowledge and understanding, some even making more direct comments that they don't like even seeing or hearing of people trying to put down other members or just treat them unfairly, for instance like they are less important than any other member etc…, whether it be the general public, fans, or media, etc…
This is something all Army learn very quickly, that it is always ot7 first!
Which means original seven.
That it is ok to have biases, or bias wreckers, etc…
but that ot7 will always take precedence, and that will never change. For instance, I have what they call an ultimate bias, which pretty much means they are your permanent bias and they can not be wrecked, or in my case it means all of that, but also, that they have always been my bias from the start and it has never changed. So ues, for instance, when it comes to myself, I have a ultimate bias who is jhope. And ai have sometimes thought Iight have what would be considered to be bias wreckers, though mine never even came close to being my actual bias so for me it is a bit different I suppose, but those would probably be those would probably be Suga or possibly V.
But jhope is also the person I was very much drawn to from the beginning because of his insane dancing, and he is part of the reason I continued to get into more of their music. But I love dance, and have had experience in it in the past, so it is all just part of the things that first drew me in.
But, and this is most important, even though I have a ult. bias, etc…
I will always, first and foremost, love and support each and every one of the members, equally as part of the group that is BTS, and know that they are all truly incredibly hard working and talented.
That no matter what BTS is who they are and where they are today because of each and every one of the members.
And that no matter my bias, etc… that is all something separate.
I will never see BTS for anything other than OT7,
and that ot7 will always come first!
They are a group of 7 !!
Before anything else and that's exactly how it is and how it should be.
I feel sad if one is missing and I know it feels incomplete, such as when one has been sick or unable to be a part of a performance etc…
I understand that sometimes these things just happen, that's just part of life, but I also know it seems weird when they are missing.
Now, all that is just my personal feelings, etc… but I know that this is something all Army knows and believes wholeheartedly.
Which is why dealing with toxic solo stans can simply be so irritating and completely frustrating. But this is all to just help you understand that especially as of lately, Army's have a lot to contend with.
But we do know that our fandom isn't perfect and that there some toxic people among us. But many of us actively try to fight against some of the toxicity when we see or hear of it or them, but at the same time, obviously there is only so much we can do, overall, especially when you are as big of a fandom as we are. If that makes sense, which I hope it does, lol.
But I just hope you will be able to see that most of us, Army’s, truly aren't just toxic stans, and a a ton of us don't even like seeing it in our fandom as it is. But we do truly love getting to share in others journey's when getting to know BTS, etc….
Army truly love and support BTS, their music, and many of the things they stand for, etc…
And when you truly like something and believe in it like that, a lot of the time you like to share that special something with others, right
And I would say, most Army definitely fit that description extremely well.
But here I go again writing an entire book… goodness.
I hope longer comments don't bother you or many others, if they do, well that's my bad, sorry.

I don’t think this was a bad choice for you at all to begin with! I’m glad you enjoyed this one and for something that will probably be right up your alley is their song Mic Drop, either version is good! There is their original version and then a Steve Aoki version with a mv

“A dancer dies twice—once when they stop dancing, and this first death is more painful.” - Martha Graham
This song takes place in the Shadow section of Map of the Soul 7. Map of the Soul is named after the Murray Stein book of the same name explaining the psychology of C.G. Jung.
Black Swan is a multi in that it refers to the counterpoint to the Snow Queen in Swan Lake, it refers to the movie Black Swan and the questions of identity (which ties in to the anime Perfect Blue), and it also refers to a freakishly rare event that makes you question your assumptions.
At the opening of the song the boys are in white and dancing in shadow, but each of them shows traces of the darkness clinging to them. This is a confrontation with creative burnout and the fear that comes with it. If you have built your whole identity around this one aspect of self, what happens if it breaks or goes away? What if the music can't move you anymore.
As they drop into a well lit backdrop they embrace the Shadow content and fully explore it. "Ok, so what if that's true? Film it now." Stepping into the darkness and bringing the Shadow content to consciousness they transform it and take its power.
Jung's psychology is all about the process of individuation, of integrating the Shadow and Persona, bringing the unacceptable unknown to light and accepting it. Jung uses the system of alchemy as a metaphor for this process.
The Magnum Opus, the great work, is the creation of the Philosopher's Stone.
Black - Nigredo - The Piece of the Void - Shadow, the unacceptable unknown
White - Albedo - Purification - Bringing the Shadow into the light of consciousness
Red - Rubedo - Unification/Completion - Self-Actualization and Individuation as a complete individual
This video plays with themes of dark and light, facing the long dark night of the soul and coming through intact and stronger for it.

I wish I could tell you there isn't any lore. But there is quite a porfound and deeper meaning here. I mean you can take it how you want that is up to you. But the deeper meaning relates to the title Black Swan. There is probably many who could tell you more but I can explain at least a little. In 2010 Black Swan was released as a movie, but it is all originated with in the ballet "Swan Lake". There os a quote from a well known dancer wnd choreographer named Martha Graham.
She says, " A dancer dies twice, one when they stop dancing, and this death is the more painful."
For a dancer I think it speaks to the death that some may think is actually worse than regular death and thats when they can no longer do the thing they love, either because they can not do it anymore physically, or because maybe they lose their passion and love for it, etc.....
With in the song you will hear Suga and Rm speaking about this in the very beginning verses. For instance RM motions to the cutting of his throat, he is doing this
relating to that first death. Part of what Suga says in that first verse is "That will be my first death, that I'm always afraid of."
In this song specifically for BTS, a big part of the lyrics are speaking towards not being able to do music anymore, or losing the love and/or passion they have for their music, for their craft. That is such a big and meaningfull part of not just their lives but of who they truly are on a deeper personal level.
RM was a main writer for this song, and I guess their is a video when he talks about watching the movie a couple times, and crying.
I think he was sqid to have been thinking of a dancers life and experience when writing the song. Or it was a big influence. But that is also in large part if not completely, what the Black Swan movie is about.
From what I read, I think it was said that BTS recorded this song when they were dealing with such emotions or related ones with in their everyday lives at that time. Then there is the shadows. You saw the one at the end. Not sure if you noticed but there was shadows behind Suga and RM in the beginning, they were dancing behind them. If I remember correctly Jimin did the dancing for the shadows of Suga and Jk, and jhope did the dancing for the shadow behind RM. I guess wome of that possibility had to with who was closer to the persons height. But I mean that obviously makes sense.
And this track was infact like you had been thinking, it was a chance for Jimin to be able to show more of his contemporary background, and kind of get more spot light on him and his wonderful contemporary abilities. You know to kinda lead the way with this one.
And you were talking about it being more like performance art, well interestingly they released an Art Film by MN Dance Company to this song, it is really well done, and very nice.
One thing when reading through the lyrics though, is their love for their passion shines through as well. Gives hope and reaffirms its strength as apart of who they truly are and what their music, their craft, truly means to them.
I know there is probably much more to know, this mv and song is profoundly deep. But I hope I could atleast help give you a bit more
info. and that it may help you with in your fuller understanding of this song and music video. But I am glad that you liked it. To me this will always be one of my favorites by BTS. Now with BTS I think a lot of people find they have a list of favorites not just one or a couple favorites, lol. Because it can be very hard to choose, and they have quite a big discography. And in my opinion so many songs that are very good or purely amazing, which makes it even harder to choose only one specific song or a couple, lol.
But I would say this song would probably make the top half of my favorites list. And I think it is one I saw earlier on when I first statred listening to BTS as well. So no this isn't a bad place to start, and I think "On" isn't either. But I do know with your love for rap, there are rapline songs that you may definitely love.
They have songs that are just the rapline and some that are just the vocal line as well.
And than they have solo songs with in BTS albums as well. So if you are interested in hearing something more specific in those types of areas let us know, we can help point you in the right direction, thats not problem.
I know many reactorw are told to start with songs like "On", and "Mic Drop." So maybe Mic Drop may be another to add towards the beginning. But of course that is up to you. Though maybe watching the video on some of their hardships may help you to understand Mic Drop a bit better. Because it is a awesome song qll by itself. But it was also intended to be a message or reply ao to speak to haters. See that is usually ehat you will find with BTS though, as you saw i the one video, wjen faced with hate, etc...., they usually won't say a whole bunch right then and there, but instead will give their thoughts and/or comments, so to speak, to such things through their music. They let their music do the talking in so many ways. I personally love that about them. Sorry this turned out way longer than I originally intended. But again thank you for the reaction, I enjoyed it, and loved the fact that you included a live performance. Many times you will hear that their live performances are just as good if not better than even the mv's. Amd thats not a diss on the mvvs bexause they are incredible. It is just that BTS for many truly shine on the live stage. And trust me for many songs there are specific very well know live performances that are preferred, so if want Army can definitely help tell you wome of the best to go to, including the best versions posted on youtube, including ones that al can be more reactor friendly, though with all groups there will be ones that maybe are only better done on Patreon, or you might have to somewhat block the video for youtube, but I'm sure you already are very familiar with this.
Excited for "On-The Kinetic Manifesto Film"!!! 💜💜💜
Just a tiny bit about that. It was performed and filmed at Sepulveda Dam in San Fernando Valley, I guess it is just north of LA. I found that it was said to be the centerpiece for a large recreational and nature area.
In fact, the Black Swan mv, was also filmed in LA. It was filmed at The Los Angeles Theatre with in the historic Broadway Theatre District in downtown LA.
If you want to know more about the making of the video and see really cool behind the scenes footage, most of their mv have behind the scenes making videos called Bangtan B0mbs, they can usually be found for free on the youtube channel Bangtan TV.
Just incase your intested. They are also wuite interesting because BTS do alot of their stuff for real, instead of just using CGI, etc... Most of the time you can get to see many if those things and how they were possibly done or explained with in those videos, among many other things of course. I am only a little familiar with Stray Kids so I wasn't sure if they did anything similar or not, so I figured I would just give you a heads up that there were those types of behind the scenes videos.
Wow feel like I just wrote an essay, sorry. With BTS, often there can be a lot to learn, etc....
But no pressure, it is your journey so enjoy it the way you want. Army will be here to help, but we just mainly like to enjoy watching others have fun getting to know BTS.
And to help give info that may not always be the easiest to know at first.
I think you are doing good though. Just keep doing your thing, and have fun!
💜💜💜

Hi Teddy! I enjoyed this reaction a lot; thank you for your genuine opinions, as always. Yes the main dancer for this song is Jimin who brought his contemporary dance skills to this song beautifully. The video is filmed based on Black Swan movie and the song talks about an artist who had lost their ability to produce new art and believes this feels like facing their first death. There are plenty of songs that I like to recommend for you to react but the thing is that they have a stroyline that goes through their albums and if you don't know the story and dont go through them in order, you might feel confused at what they are trying to say or depict in the video.
But regardless of that I suggest you to react to: HipHop Phil (lyrics video), I Need You (Longer version, Uncensored), Spring Day (Explanation video highly recommended), The Truth Untold (Live version, its a vocal line song), Louder Than Bombs (Lyrics video - Its a song dedicated to A.R.M.Ys), House Of Cards (Vocal line - Live version- Amazing perfomance) Fake Love (Music Video)
I look forward to all your reactions and hope you enjoy them too :)

Black Swan is usually the song I show to people when I can tell that they think all kpop is bubblegum pop (nothing wrong with that type of music) and about 90% of the time they end up liking this song😂

Gist of the song is about a performers first death. In this case when a dancer can no longer dance or a musician loses their passion for music.
