Welcome to Tool, you're in for a ride. I know you're a lyrics guy, and Maynard has them by the boatload. But more than that, rock music and legendary bands truly are about the musicianship and talent on the various instruments. The more rock you listen to, the more and more you'll be able to appreciate it...and Tool is a perfect place to start paying attention to that. They are all masters and they push boundaries with their time signatures, sounds, etc. Danny Carey is a LEGEND on the drums. Looking forward to more!

Tool fits into the genre of Progressive Rock/Metal (Prog Rock). Longer songs, changing time signatures and unique arrangements. I am so glad you finally got here - their catalog is extensive, many of the bands you have listened to over the past year owe a lot to the legacy of this band. Each member is a master musician in their own right. Maynard's voice is one of the best, Danny "The Octopus" on drums, Adam on guitar and Justin on Bass. I am excited to see where this takes you ...
