Oliver become a friend of Hideo Kojima (the creator of metal gear solid, and in the 2019 they make the song "LUDENS" for the new Kojima game "death stranding"

2024-01-11 04:13:19 +0000 UTCI say listen to some of their earlier stuff like Pray for Plagues, Chelsea Smile, Diamonds Aren’t Forever, Blessed With A Curse and It Never Ends before you listen to the full Sempiternal album as it will show the progression of their music and how it’s changed. After listening to Sempiternal I’d say move on to songs like Drown, Throne, Mantra, and then eventually Obey Ft Yungblud. I think this will show the best of like how their style has changed and grown you’ll hear how he used to scream in the earlier albums (which eventually damaged his vocal chords and he had to relearn how to scream safely). At one point he even ruptured his vocal chords.

2024-01-11 03:49:23 +0000 UTCWhen this was released the lyric “This is Sempiternal” was misheard so much that it became a meme where people would scream “This is Sandpit turtle” and I think at one point even Oli started screaming “this is sandpit turtle” and sometimes when people would make lyric videos to this song they would put pictures of the turtle sandboxes during that part because it became such a big meme within not just the bmth fandom but that music scene like even people that didn’t listen to bmth often also new the meme.

The new stuff goes in a different direction from their older material, but I personally like the lyrics a lot more. I’m also pretty jealous you’re going to see them. Seeing them for the first time at Download last year and being in a crowd of 100,000 people screaming “This is sempiternal” was one of the best experiences of my life.
