Chapter 50: Have you ever been a prince’s babysitter?

“Ehm… can I invite my friends to hang out with us? if it’s not too weird. They’ve never seen a human before too and it would be so cool and I think they will like me more,” Telepatian said.

Like me more? Weird thing to say.

“Yeah sure, why not.”

“O-Okay! I’ll tell the guard now to arrange the party!”

Afterwards, they decided to practise more with magic before his friends arrived.

Telepatian was starting to look panicked and stressed out at the lack of progress Jack was making.

“Can I try something?” Telepatian said.

“Yeah, sure.”

It felt like a wire of frozen and burning hot ice was stabbed into his stomach. He collapsed on the floor.

“Are you fine! I’m sorry! Healer!” Telepatian screamed.

“I’m fine. Don’t worry. Just give me a warning next time, haha,” Jack said.

The healer arrived and went over to Jack.

“I’m sorry! I was trying to slowly guide mana into you and see if it would help. I didn’t know humans had absolutely no mana resistance,” Telepatian said, while crying.

“Please don’t hate me!” he screamed.

What the fuck is wrong with this kid?

Jack stood up and padded his head.

“Don’t worry my friends. I’m fine,” Jack said.

“He has to rest, I’m sorry Telepatian. Dear visitor, please rest in your room for the day and get some good sleep,” the healer said.

“Yo, let’s do that party tomorrow,” Jack said.

“O-Of course! I”m so sorry. Please rest well, Jack the esteemed human!” Telepatian said.

What does esteemed even mean? I do like being called esteemed though.

“Yeah, peace!” Jack said, while following the healer out of the prince’s chambers.

His room was ridiculously expensive looking. And his bed was ten meters wide and ten meters long. He had never laid in a softer bed in his life.

Suddenly, two dryad maids came into his bedroom. They looked absolutely stunning.

“Hello, dear visitor. We are here to bathe you,” they said uniformly, while bowing.

I didn’t choose the good life, it chose me. I fucking love Telepatian.

After a night of good sleep, Jack woke up to a wonderful smell of breakfast. The food looked like a weird imitation of human food. It was burgers and fries. But many details were off about it. Like the fact that the bottom part was a meat patty, and that there were chopsticks along with the meal. Jack shrugged and just ate it anyways with his hands, while the cook nearby looked on and scribbled a few notes onto his notepad.

He met up with Telepatian again and they did some more training.

“So, like, slowly focus on just circulating the mana in one long line from your mana generation in your stomach to your finger, and circulate it back,” Telepatian said.

“This is too hard. But I wanna try it. Can I use my ritual mental sacrifice focus skill?” Jack said.

“Eh… I think if you learn during the enhanced focus you can only use during enhanced focus. You need to learn the natural way,” Telepatian.

“Okay, but lemme just do it for five minutes just so I can see how it’s supposed to feel like then I turn it off. Fine?” Jack said.

“Ehm… O-Okay. I have no experience with mental stuff though. So I hope nothing bad happens,” Telepatian said.

Jack did the ritual while Telepatian curiously looked on and even imitated some of the parts of the ritual Jack was doing. The ritual snapped into place and he was washed in a cold, focused state.

He started circulating mana to his fingers. And he saw that the mana was starting to accumulate on the skin of his finger in a kind of weird membrane way.

“Yes! That’s it!” Telepatian said.

Jack stopped the circulation and then collapsed his ritual and went into his brain scattered state. Telepatian of course called a healer and started panicking. Jack should have told him beforehand the consequences of the ritual.

Jack had never seen so much food in his life. A massive banquet hall was filled to the rim with food and big tables. It contrasted weirdly with the three other kids who were the only ones there.

Jack and Telepatian went over to them. Jack had to walk slowly because of Telepatian’s smaller legs.

“Is this the human! It looks so cool! Let me take a crystal!” one of them screamed and ignored Jack’s greeting and took out a crystal and did the equivalent of taking a selfie with Jack’s confused looking face.

“Why are you calling me it?” Jack said.

The kid ignored him and talked to Telepatian.

“Why is it clothed? Command it to take off its clothes,” a small dryad girl said. She looked like some kind of princess.

Jack could see Telepatian raging, his face turning red.

Suddenly, Jack felt like he was being crushed from all sides by mana and everything turned black.
