Chapter 48: What do you do when you get teleported to another world?

Jack read the mission notification.

Work as a babysitter for a week at UNDISCLOSED.

Risk: None. Guaranteed safety

Reward: Mana Training: Rank 1

Conditions: Non-disclosure binding. Time limit: 1 minute

“What is it?” Lucas said.

“I can’t say. I just got a new mission.”

Jack internally watched the time ticking away on the time limit.

“And it says I’m not allowed to tell anyone or the mission will delete itself. Also, I have to accept it right now… holy shit it’s a good deal! Bye gay boys!” Jack said

Jack pressed accept and immediately was in the previous dark space where he felt like he was falling but also that he didn’t have a body.

“Forgot about this. Fucking sucks,” Jack said to himself.

“So, oh dear system, how many minutes do I have to stay here this time? At least you gave me a choice this time. Not much of a choice last time, you know? You can be pretty weird, baby. Should I confess more sins? Are you even listening?”

Only ten seconds in, he fell on his butt.

He looked around and saw weird lights and materials. He was in a room which looked like the inside of a giant tree trunk. There were weird magical symbols carved all around the tree walls and energies flowing through them. With his crude mana sense he could feel immense amounts of complexity and mana beyond his grasp.

“Visitor 12132321115, please get up,” he heard a voice say.

The voice sounded rude, and the system had already guaranteed his safety, so he decided to take the piss and ignore the voice.

“Is the auto-translator not working? I said, get up!” the voice said.

“Suck my big, fat dick,” Jack said, and pulled down his pants and underwear. He was assuming there was some kind of camera from where the voice was looking at him.

He heard a sigh. A part of the wall in front of him vanished so he could exit. Out of the hole he could see a building made of tree roots with windows letting in pure sunshine.

“Can you get up and follow me?”

A man. Who looked kind of see through and covered in tree bark clothing. His skin was white with a shade of green. His eyes were completely green and looked like they were made of mana. It was a dryad.

“Yeah, but watch your fucking mouth or I’ll fuck you up,” Jack said, and got up.

“You will follow my commands,” the dryad man said.

“No I fucking won’t. The only commands I follow is the one of the oh great super system. And I don’t remember hearing shit about a dickface pale looking motherfucker telling me what to do. What is this place anyways?” Jack said, while stepping out of his wooden chamber.

“Just shut up and follow me so I can be done with you,” the guard said.

“Where’s the baby I’m babysitting? Lemme meet the lil rascal,” Jack said.

The dryad ignored him.

Okay, if I attack him or shoot him, I think the system won’t protect me. The guaranteed safety part probably only extended to not being thrown into a mortal situation like last time.

The dryad started walking and Jack followed him.

They exited the small building and Jack was met by the most beautiful sight he had ever seen. It was even more beautiful than the first time he stepped into the game world.

Trees as tall as skyscrapers. Flowers, plants, colors. The sun was shining from every angle and there were no shadows despite how unrealistic that fact looked.

The air was clean. For some reason it felt even cleaner than the stone plaza. And sometimes he caught lovely smells of nature. All around him he saw dryads. It looked like a small metropolis. Like this was the Shibuya crossing of the Dryad World.

“The other way,” the dryad man said, and clicked his tongue. Jack wasn’t sure if dryads clicked their tongues or if it was just the auto-translator that was doing that.

Jack turned around and saw a majestic castle made of roots and leaves and giant trees. Whereas the city had brown colors, this castle was made of pure white trees and the leaves were all red and white like cherry blossoms.

They walked on weird wooden bridges made of tree roots and made their way to the castle. On the way, Jack saw many cute and weird tree creatures nonverbally greeting him and waving at him. They looked like the equivalent of dryad puppies and cats.

They made it to the entrance and faced two guards.

“Greetings, human,” one of the guards said and bowed his head.

“We are grateful for your visit. I hope Archmage Gragri received you well,” the guard said.

Jack was taken aback by how respectful the guard was.

“Thank you for your kind words. I did not find Archmage Gragri pleasant, but I shall not let it bother me,” Jack said.

“This shit flashed me. Just take him away from me. Fucking hate when they ask me to waste my time like this,” Gragri said.

The guard frowned and nodded his head. Gragri teleported away.

Though Jack didn’t like Archmage Gragri, it was his first time seeing somebody teleport away and it felt like his brain skipped a second and he kept blinking and looked around trying to find Gragri.

I have to admit, that was cool.

“Dear visitor, may I take you to the prince now?” the guard said.
