Review requests!

Hey gang! Hope we're all keeping it real and kickin' ass out there.
Can't lie, I'm having a bit of a weird time with reviews right now. None of my ideas are panning out very well and I feel like some outside input might help jolt me back to life! I'd love to just do a couple of dead quick single-bot reviews and get things moving again, but I'm a bit stuck for directions.

Here's what I wanna know - what's the one bot you'd love to see me take on? Who's got a certain something that maybe I hadn't considered, and who might make for a cool video? Anything will be considered, as long as I've got it, which, let's face it, is pretty likely.

Sound off in the comments and help me bust out of this gridlock!

Comments

I dunno if you have it or not, but I'd love to see your take on Hybrid Style Convoy.

Brian Salas

Dunno if this has been said, but maybe some of the classic Go-Bots?

Typhon Mar

I thought it'd be funny to see a "monthly galvatron" one off especially as the new one coming out looks a bit like Kryten's spare head from Red Dwarf. But I dunno, maybe that's a bit derivative. I dunno how into the UK comics you were but maybe a themed vid on The Wreckers? (That could be a lot of work for one vid though that's quite niche.)

Dr E Millar

I’m thinking crazy Japanese beast wars figures? Just something fun and weird that people aren’t likely to have seen

Joseph England

I'd love to see you tackle RID or armada prime or one of the others with a super mode That was a cool era and I kinda miss OP always having a bigger cooler robot mode he could change into

Ratman

Maybe think outside the box, do some fanmodes, baseformer builds or custom figure videos? I haven't ever seen much of that kind of content from anyone.

cloud_commander

Any masterpiece Beast wars figure or a mastermind creations DJD figure particularly Tarn or Kaon?

SkeletorCore

I'd love to see a review of Rock Lords. No really. I love the weird and obscure. And I love your reactions to them.

Brian Salas

YES!!!

Patrick Rainey

Wait... There isn't a Transformer named "GRIDLOCK"! I THINK THERE SHOULD BE!!! How about doing a review for Transformers that should/could be named "Gridlock" (or "Gridlok" to make it sheik) from existing figures? Of course, you can bring out your "Grimlock" figures to point out that you're not talking about him (to avoid confusion), even though it's one letter off.

Patrick Rainey

I like to see "Thew's Tremendous Titans Reviews"

BigSarge Pete

Would love to see you do a review of the RID Landfill team! I remember you being super stoked about getting the whole set in a Dammit! Open

Eden Dubson

Would it be self serving to say "rapid-fire Q-Transformer reviews"? (Yes, it absolutely would, but it's what comes to mind.)

Jolene Blake

How about Movie 07 leader brawl, one of the few good figures to come from that line. or maybe any of the Unicron trilogy Megatrons, Monthly Megatron and all that.

Fritz

Honestly I'd love to see you revamp the build videos into live streams, watching you build those old dai atlas kits while vibing with people in real time sounds like your exact brand of chill

Kyle Rothfus

What about the Autobot Brothers from 2001 RID?

Garth Rivers

Oh, did you ever do your Titans? Metro and or maximus?

Christian Levesque

There were two votes for DoubleDealer that I saw and I would like to throw my vote behind them.

Alphonse Baldino

Hope that fog clears for ye soon man, it's the worst when you feel right on the edge of being able to create. Is there any bot, new or old, you've found yourself going back to and fiddling with? There's always something I find myself taking off the shelf and having another go of. The newish mini bots are a favourite of mine, POTP Beachcomber, TR Brawn, or Mech Fans Toys Hound, all fellas I find myself going back to! I'd always love to hear a recommendation for something that's fun to play with, something that's simple and satisfying to transform back and forth! Might make for a nice short review too.

Slipshod

Movie studio Hot Rod or Grimlock

Primal Force

I'd love to see you take on Earthrise Doubledealer or Scorponok tbh mate. Or maybe SSBB Starscream? The cybertronian jet one? Whatever you decide mate it'll be reet. 😉

Andrew Ryde

Since several of them have been redone recently, how about some quick hits on thrilling 30?

Austin Shippy

Why not focus on Earthrise/Siege Skorponok? He's been there for ages, may as well talk about him directly ahahaha

Zanoscar

Mp - 01?

Director Scarlett

would really love to see cybertron megatron

Ziah Phillips

I would love to see either Big Convoy or the Nemesis Prime repaint of him. Go forth and fiddle with the shellformers.

John Fitzgerald

I’ve heard you say you have Cybertron Megatron at one point. I’d love to see you talk about that weirdo at some point.

TransDrummer1312

It's different and will catch the eye of a few people I would imagine. I like these kinds of videos as they trigger a new line / experience for me and gives me something different to consider in my collection.

Brian

Everyone is doing the same nonsense, MP this, Beast Wars that, so and so WFC nonsense, how about you review all of your GoBots, or anything related to GoBots in a longer form video?

Brian

I didn’t read the post all the way 😭 but I’d love to see you review some cybertron stuff like leader class megatron (could double as a monthly megatron review too y’know)

KILLERqueen343

Or Siege Sixgun because... I just need someone to sell me on it, and you are damn good at that. Lol

Riley McGee

I wonder if you have Q Transformers Jazz? Just stuff the review with as much Eurobeat as possible (InitialD)

Riley McGee

I would love to see some more beastwars neo stuff. Loved that classic longrack review you made a few years back and I'd wanna see more of that wacky toyline! Maybe like cohrada or dead end for example.

VOLT AFTER DARK

Remake of the first four vids, call it G-Thew

Connor Mullins

I would love to see reviews of early to mid 2000s figures: rid2001, unicron trilogy, classics, alternators, universe 1.0. Maybe a video of the UT primes and megatrons?

yequari

I would be interested to hear your take on any of the Micromaster Combiners. I believe you have Sixliner and Sixturbo? Just some funky little dudes who turn into a little big dude!

Don Lubecki

I’ve always wanted to see a vid from you on Cybertron Soundwave, OR the Universe Blaster repaint you got recently :3c

Erica Walsh

Your reviews got me back into collecting and grabbing far more generations figures than I ever expected. I was a lot like you where I was a little too young for the game in the first round of G1 toys. So powermaster optimus prime was my first "big"" TF. But what about the titans Monsterbots? Your grotusque G1 was fun and those guys all share the same body/transformation

Scott Blessman

Armada Hot Shot. Just him, no others, no pretense. His goofy ass and the helicopter that goes on his goofy ass

Joel Adler

Earthrise Scorponok demands your time! HE IS RIGHT THERE

Kelly Tindall

I think I remember seeing that you had both BW Spittors? Those are in that perfect little daft zone that I think you'd be able to do something good with? Very lovely toys.

Maxy Barnard

Hey, Thew! How about Air Razor and Black Aracnia from the latest release. A couple femme fatales to bolster the Beast Wars brigade.

IceTigerV

Has anybody here suggested Titanium Megatron? Ridiculous all metal construction…. With lots of plastic joints. https://www.amazon.com/Titanium-Transformers-Cybertron-Heroes-Megatron/dp/B000EQH1T8

Keith Murray

Hey Thew, Eli here, remember when I helped share your infamy on Canadian public television?   I think your best stuff is your most personal, so why not combine your passions?   Who are the most METAL Transformers?  I wonder if you could do a thought experiment, pick a classic metal band...ie Metallica..now how would you cast various transformers in their place. Who is the transformer equivalent of James Hetfield?  Could be fun? Cheers.

Eli Glasner

It's been a long time since you did anything third party -- like so long I've been wondering if you swore off it or something. Anyway, maybe something in that realm could spark your creative juices. I feel like something like FansHobby's Powermaster Prime or its Thunderclash retool would be in your wheelhouse. Another idea: You could try one of those fan-made 3D-printed toys. What's more Thew than gushing over something obscure that's not technically very good but obviously made with love?

Kevin Spak

I want to see a review of some goofy-ass garbage. Beast Wars Injector. Beast Machines Battle Unicorn. Something weird like that.

Captain Invictus

Titan’s Return Tidal Wave! He’s a beauty and you seemed really excited when you unboxed him.

Josh Bell

I would say personally love to see your review on railracer or the build team

Zack Schley

Mirage is my fav! Any figures of him tbh, tho I think the MMC Sphinx is really lovely & I enjoy it very much :)

Krin Syn

Skyward Brew hahaha. Either that or a mini-con mayhem.

VikingAtom

BIG CONVOY

Shroud Savage

Titans Return Trypticon! Or any of the Titans Return deluxes that haven't been done.

Don Toal

I'll add my voice to any suggestions of Armada stuff!

Chris McFeely

Can you do titans return overlord? It was the first bot you ever pre-ordered and was the first non masterpiece transformer I ever owned so I have some slight bias.

Christian Levesque

Kingdom Dinobot if you have him would be cool

Sound Board

I know it’d be a big project probably but Titan Scorponok would be rad! He’s been peeking at us for ages on the desk and it would be funny for him to have his time to shine. Include maybe a TR throwback in there, a group shot of the Decepticon Headmasters? Idk i’m just spitballing :) i hope it works out Thew!

Zach Lawson

A Chromdome/Rewind review for pride would be really nice. People often review one and mention the other, but it’s never specifically a review to highlight their relationship. I know McFeely just did a Basics on Chromdome (probably for pride), but it would be nice to see some representation for the LGBTQI+ community. Maybe make it a donation vid and support the Trevor Project or a UK equivalent?

Travis Kindred

I'd love to see your take on Mastermind Creations Ni, their version of the character Nickel, the resident nurse of the DJD. Her design has a bit of a botbots feel and I think the character has some very fun things to talk about.

PassTheSalad

G1 Overlord or the Decepticon Pretenders.

thecrookedman

Aquatic or snow-based altmodes are a lot of fun and really underrated IMO. Maybe a mini collection of stuff like Icepick, Snowcat, Seaspray, or other figures with altmodes that need some appreciation? Edit: trains too, besides Astrotrain lol

SOUP63

core class? cheap easy to bash out, new play patern as toys for your toys they look great and on paper are perfect but theres something not right about all the ball joints and pointy toe'd soundwaves. i feel like if anyone would get the trepidation on tiny transformers it would be Thew

scott kennedy

Siege Sideswipe maybe? That figure is still one of my favorites in the recent WFC trilogy stuff

Reagan Housley

Reveal the shield Jazz. The best Jazz toy.

Troysef

Honestly anything from Titans Return (ex: Sky Shadow, Overlord), and really anything from Beast Wars, Car Robot/RiD, or the Unicron Trilogy. Not a single bot review but the Autobot Brothers from RiD would be a cool video.

Ryan Frankenstein

Beast Wars Transmetal 2 Dinobot. The problem is Hasbro is delivering so many definitive versions of characters over the last two years that it's boring. "Oh, hey, another perfect representation of X to check off the list!" You need something weird, old, and deeply flawed to get your Thew mojo flowing. Transmetal Dinobot happens to be a favorite but something along those lines could work.

hoostoh

Monthly Megatron on Classics Megatron. He be my boi

puppybuds

Would you have FansProject's Steel Core? The first (only?) of 3P attempts at going full indie.

shadowscribble

You never did that BW Manterror review, I’d love to see that!

Hex Roberts

At one point you had the black Animated Soundwave. I remember because you popped the head of the Ratbat Keytar in the Dammit Open. (I think? memory is fuzzy) But then again, I'd be ecstatic to see any animated toy take up more room on the show.

Mark Koivu

How about a kinda big one on the power core combiners

Jacob

I'd love to see you talk about Cybertron Megatron. The fact that this one is a car (and a plane I guess, but mostly a car) has always stood out to me.

Doomington

G2 Grimlock. Or maybe an updated look at Animated Grimlock?

Grompy Goat

Someone else has already suggested it, but it's been a while since you did a non-Transformers Toygrind review. Or maybe a Go-Bot.

charlie mudd

Kingdom Galvatron or maybe RID 2001 Scourge

Matt R

Maybe a new episode of Toygrind if Transformers just isn't hittin right?

Euphrates

As you've done a big breakdown of astrotrain and it's one of your favourites I'd love to see your opinion, review of the recent Siege Astrotrain

David MacLachlan

Maybe something from the Generations Select line, like Star Convoy if ya got him.

BewareBelial

Perhaps a review of figures like Microx/Reflector and MicroCassette Robo/Soundwave where they are discussed against the background of them having been MicroChange figures, representing very small robot characters? How about other MicroChange figures which never made it into the Transformers line, like Scopeman and the Lock Robos? Micromasters or G1 PowerMasters might be fun, too (Dreadwind & Darkwing - and all of that food their companions/engines need to consume to keep them aflight). If you're open to reviewing non-Takara/Hasbro transforming toys - this oddity would be very cool: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gZiHZNrFlok It's a transforming cupnoodle timer!

Bos Maior

or maybe a redux on an old review where your opinions have changed drastically and/or you want to hit it again with some of that charming Thew hyperbole?

Joe Powell (Crosshairs Productions)

I'd like to see your thoughts on more Unicron Trilogy bots, though if I had to choose just one it'd be either Armada or Cybertron Megatron.

Nick Calhoun

I think a fun one could be for Armada Red Alert, I remember you mentioned owned him before I believe and if you've got most of the pieces I think it could be a good place to grab some ideas.

Ri_Ception

That is one heck of a good question... G1 Overlord? Skyquake? Turbomasters ? Animated? Beasties? The Jumpstarters for no good reason I'm gagging for the Soundwave video you teased a while ago

Chris Cash

Right now our faves: studio series blackout (hot chonk mess), one step whirl (pure bird claw boi), gigawatt (nice straight forward delorion), cyberverse deluxe starscream (sexiest back kibble), snapdragon (mechagodzilla and jet), beast wars megatron (original and kingdom, yesssssss), g1 preceptor (slightly working magnifying glass), studio series devastator (my horrid boi), dark of the moon sentinel prime (I think hot mess) beast machines jetstorm (how old is this? How is it still this good?). Monday evening New Zealand wine (and cocktail) fueled thoughts. Cheers David and Demelza

David and Demelza

Something from the 2001 Robots in Disguise line? It seems so many people focus on G1 or the Armada trilogy, so some great (and terrible) toys get overlooked.

Stew Wilson

would love to see your take on Beast Wars Transmetals Scavenger/Inferno, think I spotted him in the Unicrunboxing

Joe Powell (Crosshairs Productions)

Alternator Ravage? The Jaguar one? Or Rumble? Those two are both batshit figures

Kris Carter

Armada Red Alert maybe? Unless you're saving him for a red alert roundup. Or powermaster prime if you ever got your copy completed again?

Daniel Rabbitt

ooo if you have any of the new beast wars or even the old beast wars figures it could be an excuse to film outside or hit a park etc (before the public rock up etc) reviews in the wild.... as i say this i realise i sound a basic bitch but maybe even that will remind you that your ideas are well better than the average wally like me🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

scott kennedy

If you've any of the movie Real Gear Robots they'd probs go down well. (unless they were in that massive movie bots video and I've just forgotten about them.) the camera mold has a fun transformation and some killer light piping-- real hidden gem imo.

LucasBuilds

Well. Studio series scrapmetal maybe? He's my personal favourite movie verse figure just because of how much he looks like a mass produced deceptigoon. And he literally only appeared in a few frames of revenge of the fallen, which means you can assign whatever personality you want to him. I personally see him as the overconfident bruiser bot who's always eager for a fight.

Xerxes the hollow

Kingdom Beast Megatron if you have him. You did a review on his basis not that long ago, so he seems like a fitting follow-up.

Megatron

I'd like to see you do Planet X Vulcun. I mean I own and love it but would enjoy your thoughts. Either that or SS Scourge/Hot Rod

Garry Webber

Hi Thew. Firstly, we think you are ace. Certainly I'm not going anywhere. Keep going. I enjoy your videos which are off the beaten track somewhat. Your Bayverse B list rando vid and the Mario and Luigi ones in particular. In that vein, perhaps a Unicron trilogy vid? It's what brought me back after some time away from the franchise and they are ratchet and light piping heavy! Or a Toygrind to freshen the pallet? Hope this helps. Alex W.

Alex Walker

Armada Megatron, RID Megatron or BW Galvatron

James Stanley

I did Murderbee in the last Brouhaha! Thanks for the offer though 👍

Thew Adams

Maybe an Armada figure in anticipation of its 19th birthday in august, hotshot, megatron or optimus would be a good shout if you have them.

Josh Lambert

Gridlock... how about a Grimlock or two? If you've DOTM Murderbee I'd be down for a video on him, too-- if not I'd be happy to lend you mine, although it'd likely get lost in the PO box backlog.

LucasBuilds

Maybe the new scorponok

Sound Board

G1 Metroplex?
