We will be doing 6 chapters a week instead of 7 (ACOK chapters are longer on average) for most of the run. It's only 3 chapters this first week (in part because the prologue is 3-4x longer than most of the others!) but also because the book doesn't divide evenly by 6 :)

Do you think King Stannis intentionally tried to push Maester Cressen away (not inviting him to the feast & allowing him to be mocked) because he knew he'd try to kill Mel & end up killing himself? We know Mel always looks for danger to herself in the flames & she tells Cressen it's not too late to pour out the wine plus King Stannis says he doesn't want Cressen to kill himself in his service.
