Classic Doctor Who 6x03 "The Invasion" eps 3-4 full reaction

"Yes, Packer. Our clever Doctor has outwitted you. Oh, then that wouldn't be too difficult, would it?"

LOL! I really appreciate the animation, but there's just no substitute for the real thing. ;-)

Smart lad! There seems to be a lot of climbing in these episodes, and poor Jamie in his kilt and the ladies in their short 60's skirts are real troopers.

Yeah, I was at a con where Frazer was the guest and he told that kilt story as well! LOL

Congratulations on correctly guessing the Cybermen as the alien threat so early! I actually really like that they take all of 4 episodes in the 8 episode serial before they reveal that. It sets up the mystery and tension really well, and does a good job exploring the other major villain Tobias Vaughn (deliciously played by Kevin Stoney), along with his (rather hapless, yet ruthless) henchman Packer (the actor, Peter Halliday, incidentally, also voicing Cybermen in this story). Then of course you’ve also got the return of the now promoted Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart and the origins of UNIT - laying the foundations of a new key component of Doctor Who in future seasons. I also really enjoy the somewhat quirky photographer Isobel, and her relationship with Zoe. The scene where Zoe sets off the computer on an unsolvable algorithm, and then laughs maniacally as it burns out is a real treat. Re Jamie’s kilt and the rope ladder, incidentally, Frazer Hines has said the during that scene as they climbed to the helicopter Sally Faulkner’s (Isobel) skirt kept getting blown up around her neck, and he remembered a story about how the Queen had lead weights sewn into her skirts to prevent the same thing. So he got his dresser to do the same, sewing lead fishing weights into his kilt so that it stayed down, preserving his dignity.

Since you're skipping straight from this story to "The War Games", you can relax in the knowledge that you've now seen your last animated episode! For better or worse, it's all original footage from now on... :-)
