v0.23.2 Released, Contains Fix for Saving/Loading

Lab Rats 2 v0.23.1 had a couple of bugs, the most critical of which prevented saving/loading when any character had a saved limited time event. I've fixed the cause and v0.23.2 is now available. I'll probably do a dev post about it in the near future, because it was an interesting one. You can find the download links to v0.23.2 here.

While I was at it I also fixed up a few other bugs that were reported, including a few crashes inside the sex system and the ability to level up energy beyond the intended max. A big thanks to everyone who left stack traces or sent me reports to help get this fixed up in a timely manner.

You can very easily get into situations where every possible position is "boring" before either of you is ready to orgasm. It's actually strangely difficult to have both of you orgasm in the same sexual session. You seem to always run out of *something*. It's impossible to just relax and enjoy the sex scene, since it's so hard to get reasonable outcomes.

btw, a general observation: As long as your sex scenes require us to do a lot of arithmetic in our head, they aren't going to be fappable. Also, I recommend you make cunnilingus cost a lot less energy. After all, in real life the whole point of it is you can get the girl worked up with minimal effort and not blowing your load. One obvious balance issue is the ability to get 100 Love through small talk. Probably an oversight, since other interactions have a cap.

Being able to alter hairstyles, like at a salon or something, would be great. Maybe an event where you go with fam or a GF to a salon and they ask for a style suggestion like they do with clothes. I am also not a fan of the longhair style, maybe if it went behind the shoulders instead.

Some more general feedback: This is the first version of the game that I was playing more because I enjoyed it than because I wanted to check progress. The new sex system really helps. Thanks for that! I'm glad you include the pyc files. A big help to me is to be able to go into the code and make tweaks. For instance, I do not care for the "curvy" body type and while I like long hair normally, something about the 'longhair' in the game bothers me. Being able to change Jennifer's hair and change the 'curvy' girls to 'thin' really helps me enjoy the game. You might even want to make those some sort of a preference (maybe unlockable premium feature?) Even after a couple of stamina buffs, your energy is usually too low to get through a sexual encounter. I think it's about right for your flirting and such, though. Maybe make sex actions a little cheaper? Would appreciate it if you'd remove the need to hit "return" on the map. Most other games lets you just click the destination; since travel itself does not take up resources, there is no good reason to require a confirmation button.

I'm only on day 10 so this might just be because I don't have high numbers on my girls yet, but seems like everyone is asking to have their title changed multiple times a day. Seems a little bit much. (The not-random characters, like Alexa, generate title change events even when they are not in the game yet. Maybe suppress those?) Another immersion-buster: when making small talk, girls tend to ask for the same thing constantly. Maybe add a member variable for them that tracks the last topic discussed, and avoids doing it twice back to back? (A history of 2 or 3 would be even better.)

v0.23.2 Mac - Love it so far, and the new house events are great. One bug I noticed is in the event where you catch Lily pleasuring herself and can offer to "help". It seems the end of the event will always result in -2 Obedience even if she orgasms. She always says something like "That's it?" then -2 Obedience every time. At the end, the MC also says something like "Sorry I couldn't help you" and addresses Lily as "MC".
