June Updates

Hello everyone, it's Pacific (in text form)!

This update was suppose to come out last Friday but I got waylaid by a friend coming into town to visit (and scout out some potential apartments)! So, here's a lil' mid-week update for y'all.

It's summertime, which is usually the second busiest time of year (right behind October) so I wanted to take a minute and let you know what we're up to, what's coming next, and what to look forward to!

Production
It takes a small village to make a podcast. Fortunately we have some pretty incredible artists working hard to bring this show alive! So, I thought I'd share some of our progress with you!

We record, edit, and mix our episodes pretty far in advance. For the Alphabet Anthology we split our season between two teams- Chris & Dana (Annihilation, Blood-Borne, Closers, Fallout) and myself & Daisy (Aerials, Dermatology, Eternity, Grease, Ȝesundheit).

I'm, admittedly, a bit behind, and working on "K is for Keystone," which is a massive two part episode, even longer than Ȝesundheit! Meanwhile, Chris & Dana have sped ahead, and are finishing up "X is for Xenotransplantation"!

Kevin (our script editor) however is living in 2025, and working on scripts you'll hear sometime in January or February!

Valdevia (artist) & Dakota (video editor) are a little closer to the present, working on the graphics and videos you see every week. Art and video are usually the last stages of any episode, so they usually happen only a couple weeks ahead of an episodes release

Once a production begins proper, it moves pretty quickly and it's easy to get lost in the process- but the teams been hearing all your lovely comments and feedback, and it's keeping us going!

Right now the Alphabet Anthology is set to end on October 31! What a fitting ending, right? Also, we're working on a little special project coming out this November...

Bonus Episodes
In a recent poll you voted overwhelmingly for Bonus Episodes, and this has been a long want of the production team too, so starting in June we'll be releasing new full length bonus episodes exclusively here on Patreon!

In the past, bonus episodes were mostly shorter single narrator stories with very light SFX and music. Going forward, they'll more closely resemble our longer main feed stories (~30-45 minutes long, with larger casts).

Your first bonus episode, dropping on June 27 will be SCP-4197: "Hollow"

Making-Of Blogs
The second most popular option on our poll was a making of blog! I've wanted to do a series like this for a really long time now, so the first week of every month I'll write up a blog about part of the process of making our show! The plan is to cover everything, from story selection to recording, editing, art, and even how we release and market our show!

I've begun working on the first entry, and it talks all about script selection! I'm hoping to have it up sometime this weekend :)

Postcard
Our semi-infrequent quarterly postcards are continuing, and the next window to get a postcard is June 1-20! All new and continuing Patrons in this time will get a postcard sometime in early July!

I'm still finishing up the design, but keep your eyes peeled! It's off to the printer at the end of the week, so you'll see it sooner rather than later!


Discord Events

The internet is a big place, and sometimes it's hard to find a good place to hang out! I've been spending some more time on our Discord lately, chatting, hosting events, or posting random polls. I'd love if you came and joined our little community!
