Brik Blastoff 5a - Sturtevant Styvesant
Added 2024-06-15 14:57:08 +0000 UTCIn the 1970s I thought it was weird how TV cartoons portrayed non-white races. They basically just took their stock white characters and colored them slightly darker so as not to offend anybody - as if having non-white features were inherently offensive.
I had recently just discovered the old Hollywood black cartoons that were extremely exaggerated caricatures of famous Jazz Musicians and for Brik Blastoff came up with a character that combined the features of the classic cartoons with the timid portrayals of the 70s Saturday Morning cartoons.

Say, most awesomest job on your Sturtevant Stuyvesant. I love the subversive humor and characterization in your design. Did you and or someone else do that? All in all, have fun with yourself.
