Cartoon Cavalcade - Fake Characters
Added 2024-04-19 18:00:05 +0000 UTCI had pitched Ren and Stimpy as its own show to the Saturday Morning cartoon shows in the early 80s and the executives all thought I was crazy. It was just too weird for them.
So in the mid 80s when Lynne Naylor and I were were creating a pitch presentation for Cartoon Cavalcade we added some typical 80s kid characters to "Your Gang" to kind of take the edge off the more extreme characters like Ren, Stimpy, Bobbyloaf, George Liquor, Slab 'N' Ernie and Donny Chickenchild.
These are the 'normal' characters that were kind of like all other 80s kid characters.
This sort of backfired when I finally sold Ren and Stimpy to Nickelodeon, but that's another story.
