house tour kinda

hey YALL, been taking apart my house and reassembling it to look more like I wanted it to look when I moved in here last year. They look nice but the bookshelves are just plain old billy bookcases from ikea. The TV and fancy USM table belong to a friend who parked his stuff in my house while he lives a nomadic lifestyle. I’ve decided to not blow up my house on public social media until I do a proper video but I’m now actually close to doing that (it looked really unassembled and pathetic before). A lot has happened since halloween!! I got sick so I didn't get to go outside and flex my costume... I'll try and cover everything here on my bookshelves, fixing my NGE 3D shirt, NFT week in NYC, a gallery show I attended, and yeah my halloween costume. Feel free to ask about anything I missed!

Book shelves (left to right):

Tippy top: Sanrio beach balls, croc bag, bomberman hammer, cat planet plush backpack, knockoff bomberman backpack, and plush gun from steins gate

Top row: dom customized action figure in some max steel shoes, the bird from Rilakuma in a space suit, a tv toy I got from Japan, our h99 plush

2nd row: virtual-on box (worst model kit ever bc it was made ages ago and just… is super hard wouldn’t recommend), all the clamp chess figures (i scored the whole set for $40 on eBay), super monkey ball toy, sega Dreamcast figure, moomin!

3rd row: SMH, Dolpa, and replicant book collection, a tiny robo dog toy my friend gave me, a tissue box plushie, my animal crossing switch, this crazy vintage clock found at the local thrift for like $10 I think, more books

4th row: julianas art book, the tekkonkinkreet art books (my favorite), a Shirow masamune lunch box! Rei in a plug figure, a bootleg kid shoe and our doll model from the last restock :)

Tippy top: (still from left to right) this crazy bondage bear we got for 500 yen in a mode off that after many visitors attempting to locate its origins… we found out it was a small release by a Japanese podcast. Yeah, idk lol but she’s wearing Oakley sunglasses and build a bear sketchers with detachable skates LOL… peko and poko half plush half hard bodies bought as a set in Japan, my massive 3D evangelion shirt

Top row: a lot of this shit is dom’s now so I’m going to skim the ones I know~ our dolls, peeing boy toy (if you pull his pants down, he squirts water), ultra man karaoke machine, Honda robot model kit

2nd row: mostly dom’s CDs! But my grailed gurren lagann figures~ I got them for like retail when they first came out, the reason why I’m obsessed is they’re sculpted by the artist that does panty & stocking (I love a good cross over)

3rd row: dom’s Bose speakers that magically fit perfectly like we didn’t even measure lmao it just worked out that way

After setting up the bookshelves I was able to repair my 3D evangelion shirt w some hot glue and tape… not only did the horn fall off, the cardboard that the shirt was wrapped around was also falling apart. I don’t know how many of these were made but I got this on eBay when dom and I first started dating for $75 lol he has the 3D alien one and I wanted to match so he put me onto the listing… however the shirt is in shambles and is hardly holding itself together…. So unfortunately I’ll never be able to actually wear it :(

We went to a single NFT party during the NFT week in NY. Personally, I hated it lol it was super cringe and I wasn’t invited, a friend just encouraged me to go. Not a fan of NFTs, but I acknowledge a lot of people are trying to get me and dom to convert. I understand some environmentally friendly options have already become viable but our biggest problem is how pyramid-scheme-y it all feels…. Everytime a new one drops “for the community”, it’s always banking on these contrived metrics of rarity. Collectibles should be something cool that mark the time and universe it represents. It should feel sentimental naturally but NFTs always feel so forced cool bleh. Anyway I’ll save an NFT rant for a video one day…

I'm warming up to the idea of doing house video/vlog stuff after a lot of pressure from friends. Im a big ranter lol I just don’t know if the internet needs another outspoken voice and unwarranted opinions. I'm not saying I'm going to jump in and do it yet! But I am heavily considering it... atleast for patreon. I know I can't juggle a youtuber career, it's a lot of work! so I want to be realistic. 

Art gallery show was exciting! The artist is a super flat artist who goes by ob. Her work is massive and is in NY still if anyone wants to see it. It was inspiring to see paintings done so large, like the nara exhibit :)

Aaaand Halloween costume~

The fabric was PUL, commonly found in almost every fabric store. It’s shiny and a bit stretchy making it commonly used for gogo/rave outfits… it wasn’t thick enough so to get it to hold, I ironed heat-fusible lining to the backsides. This was challenging since PUL will melt if it gets too hot! The puffy rim was stuffed with plushie filling and the boots were painted with angelus paints! Honestly this acrylic paint brand has completely changed the game for me. Unlike normal paint, this paint is called leather paint and it can bend and turn and fold without cracking or creasing. Think about that!! I used it on my headphones as well after trying regular paint. The Ulala wig was a lucky find online and actually the silver boots were from my previous sandy the squirrel cosplay that didn’t arrive in time.

I am so jealous of my younger self for having more time for cosplay. A lost craft that I am allowed to revisit 1x a year hehe

Anyway ive been working tirelessly like literally every single day on a video that will come out tomorrow. It’s not done so off I go to finish. <3 more videos and BTS soon!
