2022-04-08 03:08:22 +0000 UTCYes, Cheng warned him, Wangji warned him but still he was too confident. Yiling was where this branch of the Wens lived and it's also where the Burial Mounds are. Their camp/home is near the Burial Mounds because that keeps people out and it gives Wuxian a lot of resentful energy to work with. But it's barren and poor land, so they are barely scraping by. The rescued Wens are his new family but to someone like Wangji it looks very sad and poor. Little A-Yuan is so adorable, isn't he? So is Wen Ning, even in his new form - they made sure to keep him looking cute most of the time but he definitely is still a fierce corpse. And...it's understandable, but Wuxian using him as a bodyguard is kind of...a bad idea. Yes, the show is implying that - for some unknown reason - there was a surge of resentful energy there by the bridge and the Amulet sucked it all in and made Wuxian both unbalanced and distracted as he tried to get everything back under control. Zixuan paid the price, sadly. Wen Ning isn't really to blame, since he's under Wuxian's control but Wuxian isn't quite either. Under normal circumstances, they would have been fine. Still, it was bound to happen eventually - Wuxian had to learn that he isn't always capable of controlling himself or the resentful energy. So, not long after Wangji's visit, Cheng and Yanli snuck over to Yiling so she could show off her wedding dress before her wedding. Even though they had faked Wuxian being kicked out of the Jiang clan, in their hearts they are still family. Wuxian wasn't invited to the wedding but after a year of living very quietly, they invited him to Jin Ling's one-month birthday party. It was such a big deal, and Wuxian was so happy to be able to go see them in public...

2022-04-05 11:29:04 +0000 UTCThere’s stuff to say about this episode, but it’s better to let you finish the rest of the season. The next two episodes will answer a lot of your questions! The “date scene” in Yiling makes me so soft. Wangji is so obviously in love and I want to shake Wuxian within an inch of his life for not figuring it out lol Also, wanted to let you know that orphan Wuxian was found by Fengmian in Yiling, so he lived in the area previously! This is part of the reason why he tells Wangji he knows the area well.
