Hmm. You have seen the guy in white and purple but he's older now, so it's harder to recognize him. Wen Ning is a fierce corpse - whatever he was like when he was alive, now it's basically resentful energy that animates him. And there are other reasons as well, but those can be talked about later. Jin Ling is a brat but seeing Jiang Cheng be even harder on him that Madame Yu was on Cheng is painful - repeating a cycle, when we know that she really loved Cheng, just as he really loves his nephew. Fairy is best doggo, and he always scares Wuxian into jumping all over Wangji, which is fun :) Ah, seeing Fengmian again broke my heart - he was such a good man. And baby Wuxian is so adorable. Here's the thing, about 11 years ago, someone was doing some very suspicious things - chopping up bodies, experimenting on them with demonic cultivation, using things like that array to contain and hide resentful energy. BUT, whoever has been tossing arms into Mo Village and heads into zombie arrays seems to want Wangji and "Mo Xuanyu" to solve this mystery. That means there are two different forces involved (since the one who did the crimes probably does not want them to solve any mysteries). Someone did bad stuff. Someone else knows/suspects but can't prove it and is leading Wangji/Wuxian to the clues. And I think both sides have spies watching. On to the Man-Eating Castle - that sounds like fun.
