Reacting to "Light-Years" by Nas & DJ Premier

Sorry for the short delay, posting today instead of Friday. Feeling much better. Feeling like I dodged a bullet because last weekend my wife and son were both fighting something. Hope you all enjoy that weekend 🍻

Enjoy!

Honestly Bob, I was waiting for your reaction hoping you wouldn't do this one and would pick another Nas album instead. Not because I didn't like it, but because I thought you wouldn't and there are better Nas albums to get to. However, by the end I was glad you reacted to it, and I had almost the same experience as you. I don't think it's a classic or anything, but from around track 5 on, I think it's a pretty good album, and it honestly gets better each time you listen to it. The only thing you're really missing here is this album was very much a homage to old hip hop, but it was also a homage to a lot of Nas' previous works. For example, "Sons" is a flip on Nas single "Daughters" from a previous album. AZ has been on a lot of Nas previous albums and is a legend in his own right(A Doe or Die or Aziatic reaction would be dope). "Nasty Esco Nasir" was a callback to two of Nas former alter egos and then just him which you kind of got. There are numerous lines that are callbacks too and some of the chorus' are callbacks to previous songs too. At some point, please listen to "Lost Tapes", "Stillmatic", "King's Disase 3"(They aren't narrative so you don't have to listen in order), or "Life is Good". I consider those probably his best releases post late 90s and all are incredible pieces of work.

does anyone know if he still plans to listen to the other two records of the saturation trilogy?
