Given that Sly has recently passed, and you're getting into the more funk side of R&B, you may want to listen to There's a riot going on at some point! Even if you don't react to it on a video, if you like this kind of stuff if you want to delve into the history of the inspiration for this type of music can highly recommend Sly & The Family Stone.
