Reacting to "Straight Outta Compton" by N.W.A.
Added 2024-11-22 21:24:43 +0000 UTCI found out about the new Kendrick release after I finished recording this reaction, so the new Kenny will be next week's reaction. It'll land a little early due to the holiday schedule (Wednesday for Patreon).
Enjoy!

To understand this album better this some of the songs singles they released locally years prior. Itโs basically kids having fun and talking shit. Their second album Individualz 4 Life was much more cohesive, sonically superior, and Rock and Funk influenced as far as production. One of the best Rap albums in my opinion.

2024-11-24 23:10:24 +0000 UTCI think Bob would really enjoy that Cole podcast, so far it's absolutely been worth the $10. I've always wanted to learn more about how Cole and Hov interact since they don't really do much together musically. Excited for the Cole World episode since that album sounded so weirdly put together compared to his mixtapes prior

2024-11-24 01:52:25 +0000 UTCI love some of the 80s, but most of the albums are so dated with production and rhyme style. I grew up with it, and back then it was great, but knowing and hearing what's it's evolved to, makes it a little boring. Albums like this have 3-5 worthy songs to listen to, but the rest is ehh. It really progressed in the early to mid nineties with prod/rhyme style.

2024-11-23 12:27:12 +0000 UTCspeaking of Beastie Boys, can we expect a Paul's Boutique reaction in the future? ๐ imo that album remains the pinnacle of sample based production... it would cost over $20,000,000 to make today, absolutely insane and probably will never happen again

2024-11-23 05:26:56 +0000 UTCEazy E's debut album "Eazy Duz It" was also released in 88. It was it's own thing and was absolutely monumental.

2024-11-23 03:31:00 +0000 UTCLooking forward to this reaction. I'm glad you still do some 80s and 90s albums every once and awhile. I was starting to think you weren't going to anymore. I love the old stuff. Still hoping for that Clipse reaction! ๐

2024-11-23 01:13:03 +0000 UTCHey Bob if you plan on doing more Jay-Z. His birthday is on december 4th and the black album which is something you said you wanted to hear starts with a song called December 4th. So maybe Hov in early december?

2024-11-22 22:01:51 +0000 UTCAbout J. Cole, I think the Warm Up is worth listening to, but if you can't do both that one and FNL, then FNL is the one to do. I think those will both be on streaming by the 27th, if he continues dropping w/ the podcast eps. Excited for Kenny, too :)
