Video is still processing but it says playable, so you should be good (you may experience resolution drops). Sorry for the delay on this. I wasn't even on planning on making a today, so I got off to a late start. Great album, I'm glad everyone badgered me into it 😊
Forever Story tomorrow! (and at a reasonable time as well)
Enjoy!

2023-04-22 03:29:03 +0000 UTCIdk what brought out all the great knowledge from Mr Poppop with Yachty, but I genuinely needed to hear it. Great reaction and I'm looking forward to all the rest of them (even though I've been a viewer for a while lol)

2023-02-03 04:46:08 +0000 UTCI am an hour into the reaction, and I hope by the end you come to the realization that Mr. Boat was talking about things past the first track at a somewhat face value. He's talking about sex, drugs, fame, etc. Rockstar things, what's in his life. HOWEVER! If we're dealing in theories, I believe firmly the whole album is an allegory with the main through line being an alien abduction done in the Black Seminole. It sounded upon my listen during your review, like a point for point sonically, musically created abduction. And from then on it's just him chilling with aliens living on a whole other level of life.

2023-02-03 01:12:04 +0000 UTCLoving the fact that you decided out of the blue to react to lil yachty even tho you never heard of him before ahah. I’m a big lil boat enjoyer since is debut soundcloud days in 2016 and im so excited to see artists like him to evolve out of cloud rap, he really got potential for what’s to come. If you ever want to hear the original yachty (I know you’re very busy) but his debut mixtape « lil boat » is still his best material for me. Love you bob keep going!

2023-01-29 16:27:03 +0000 UTCI like this idea, but time is fairly tight, so it's tough to do

2023-01-29 12:56:56 +0000 UTCI love it. Only stopped listening to it to do the Forever Story and then put it right back on again

2023-01-29 12:56:37 +0000 UTCIt's funny that as the album continued, you began to convince yourself that it wasn't the music industry, and I became more convinced. They lied to him, convinced him he was the best, the prettiest, even as the girlfriend? the mom figure? kept telling him they'd still be there - he couldn't let the dream of the "sunshine" go. And at the end, the suits ruined him - they got their hit, he sank under - and they convinced him it was all his fault, even as he drowned and they laughed all the way to the bank. I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHO LIL YACHTY IS, DO YOU UNDERSTAND. 😹

2023-01-29 06:42:24 +0000 UTCwow now I would love to see you react to an Yves Tumor record. heaven to a tortured mind.

2023-01-29 04:56:02 +0000 UTCVocals and bass on track 3 are contributions from the band magdalena bay! "mercurial world" is a very cool album worth hearing

2023-01-29 02:17:14 +0000 UTCIt’s so fascinating to think that this is your introduction to Lil Yachty, considering this album is so left field for him (or is it?). This makes me want to revisit his first album, Teenage Emotions, because it too was very left field at the time but not nearly as well received as this album seems to be. Also important to distinguish between yachty and his trap alter ego, lil boat (or at least that’s what the theory is)
Nick C
2023-01-28 22:22:36 +0000 UTCbob please react to some of his singles for patreon! They will show you how out of left field this album was for Lil Yachty and would be a fun video.

2023-01-28 16:34:01 +0000 UTCA nice surprise drop! Really glad you did this as i was a huge fan listening to the album yesterday. Lil Yachty has been in rotation since he dropped the remix of Tame impalas "Let it breathe", highly reconmend you checking that song out! For me it forecast what he was capable of in this genre of music. Keep up the good work! <3

2023-01-28 14:06:25 +0000 UTCthese are not the best suggestions for bob at all imo, especially in that trap/pop rap genre. he would absolutely hates those picks lol

2023-01-28 13:49:03 +0000 UTCSo glad u reviewed this album, I listened to it earlier this morning and was shocked by the direction Yachty went. I was like DAMN Bob needs to hear this and I was so excited when I saw the Patreon notification about this review, literally the same day it came out!! Bob's on top of it 🤙

2023-01-28 09:19:19 +0000 UTCHeck Yea!!! i feel like this is the whole point of the new format. New album just came out and has people talking. Time for bobby to jump in on the cultural zeitgeist.

2023-01-28 03:48:33 +0000 UTCAs someone who’s been listening to Yachty since 2015, I’m not quite sure how to feel about this album. I do like the idea of him going in this psychedelic direction, but from what I've heard it seems pretty basic. I definitely think he has the potential to improve on this sound though, and would love to see him make it his own.

2023-01-28 02:42:48 +0000 UTCIf you want to branch into the trap/pop rap genre that Youngboy is considered in, I would maybe do AI Youngboy 2 by him, or Feed the Streets 2 by Roddy Ricch. Although I believe the reason you haven’t been recommended this genre is because people probably assume you won’t like it since it’s not lyrically dense.

2023-01-28 02:10:59 +0000 UTCLil Yachty broke on to the scene literally overnight after Drakes highly popular radio show OVO Sound Radio which would come on every 2nd Saturday for a year or two and had all of hip-hop culture tuning in played one of his first singles “Cold Like Minnesota” (https://youtu.be/Hto4oQJNAPk) and thus modern day mumble rap was (sorta) born. The next day it was the one track out of the setlist everybody was talking about and sharing around as it was a style of hip-hop nobody really ever heard before in a sense or at least on a mainstream platform like that put on by Drake. Hip-Hop culture was then divided into people that fucked with the new sound/mumble rap and people that absolutely hated it. Yachty went on to become the poster boy for this new generation of “mumble” rap and rode the wave getting massive hit singles along the way but also still getting tons of hate from the older hip-hop fans and ALOT of clones popping up. He continued to work and eventually just started to grow up and chill out more, getting more accepted as he showed his personality (I highly recommend losing an hour or two watching hilarious Lil Yachty videos on YouTube 😂) as time went on he has moved away a little bit from the “mumble” melody rap into more harder Detroit rap with his last album “Michigan Boy Boat” a couple years ago and that leads us to now! As Yachty has said he made this album because he wanted to be looked at and respected as an artist and not just the SoundCloud/Mumble kid AND in more recent interviews has said he is definitely experimenting with mushrooms these days after notoriously claiming straight edge for many years in his interviews which would also be a plausible inspiration. Anyway, sorry for the long write up! You said you knew absolutely nothing and I was there that night listening to OVO Sound Radio and ended up watching this guys whole career from its inception and it's been cool to watch!

2023-01-28 02:04:28 +0000 UTCIt's very rough around the edges and you can clearly hear the influences like have a cigar on the black seminole and kids see ghosts/new magic wand on reach the sunshine for example but overall if u told me 4 years ago lil yachty would be making music this good whilst Kanye became a nazi i would only believe the second part

2023-01-28 02:04:27 +0000 UTCI'ma be honest I was not a Yachty fan coming in but I do try to at least listen to things I'm not a fan of and give it a chance.....Im a huge fan of this version of him. His older music is more like party rap

2023-01-28 01:59:29 +0000 UTClistening through for the first time right now, blown away that a soundcloud era trap rapper has went psych rock. Incredible turn of events.
