Drake haters rejoice, stans be warned.

Sorry, Alex.

Comments

drake is someone to not read the lyrics lol

joe

this album is good in my opinion, and this reaction is so funny😂 i can get behind some of what bob is saying, but i think he forgot to put down his bias

Dylan

You’re right it’s about the vibe

James Carter

also too Bob i don’t wanna be that guy to tell someone how to listen to music, because at the end of the day we do things our own way, but there are certain artists you want to sit down, breakdown and analyze their music, like kendrick, MF DOOM, BlackThought, but there are other artists where you just turn your brain off and just listen and vibe like playboi carti, future, sometimes travis scott. i like drake because AT TIMES, he can be a mixture of both, only when he’s rapping rapping. love you bob

Jose Garcia

Forget whatever current album drops this month. NWTS gotta be reviewed last week on January 😂

Kevin Lauture

I’m far from a Drake hater but I had similar feelings to Bob listening to this album. If you’re not that into this type of music then it’s hard to find things that make the album interesting. I thought Bob gave props to Drake throughout this reaction, I just think that he didn’t vibe the album in the same way some of the commenters did. There will be no shortage of lyrics to delve into the next two weeks - Black Star and Food & Liquor are absolute classics

Famous Amos

i honestly really love drake and he’s always been one of my favorite artists, but i completely understand you Bob. i could see why anyone could dislike his music. His music generally is just a VIBE. at times you get actual real good rapping, here and there you get decent singing, really big hits, and catchy melodies, but Drakes music is just a vibe. i could admit he’s corny and cringe at times, other times not even saying anything, but again man, it’s about the vibeeessss

Jose Garcia

Bob I saw ppl ripping you in the youtube comments, don't let them get to you. If you didn't like the album and you were honest, its ten times better then you just putting up a facade. Stay tru to you man

Mason

As soon as you do the first song off nwts you’re going to see how different it is, Drake actually flows and says things in that album lol

ryan cortes

I love that you were honest on this listen. I honestly love this album, it really connected to me growing up (I am 18 now). Living in the 'drake era' and modern trap realm, this album perfected this style/sound of rap in 2015

jiffybread

it was a mixtape

kman

I love the honesty cause I feel the same way about his albums lol. I’ve never even heard this one so I’m listening to it for the first time

Bangerz Productions

I think this may be another situation where to truly enjoy this album, kind of like J. Cole's album you did, you just kind of had to be there when it dropped and when Drake was popping and experience it as a teenager. I am by no means a Drake fan but this album brings me back to a simpler time when I would live through music like this vicariously. So now I look back at it with rose-tinted glasses kind of and when I hear it I can get into that feeling I felt when this was the hottest shit. PS the know yourself beat is fire. Give it time.

yeah

Love what you do Bob you're awesome man! I think you would really enjoy slime season 3 by Young thug, it's definitely a unique and fun experience with a really cool sound and it would expand your horizons. Happy new year

Alex Gagnon

Drake is more popular because his music is so inoffensive that white people can relate and bump it

sam

Shawn Cee’s take is pretty good too. https://youtu.be/ju44Jzw070A

You're wrong, we respect Bob's opinion 100% when he doesn't like something usually. The complaint is that he went into this with a biased/hater mindset, not that he didnt like it.

Joseph Kiley

comeback season is such a good mixtape

Kai Maraki

Yeah would never say this about Future, Travis, even J Cole. There’s a reason all of those artists praise himđŸ€·đŸ»â€â™‚ïž

Jacob Cooper

We aren’t disappointed he doesn’t like the album. It’s the bias that he already has from people who hate Drake and he hasn’t even listened to 1% of his catalog. Drake has 100x times more depth in his lyrics than Travis Scott but won’t knock him for lacking depth because he doesn’t know him as a person and therefore doesn’t judge before even listening to the music.

May be your best reaction yet LMAO cause you can tell you’re really giving the music a chance

Daniel Gonzalez

this was really funny, but i think you need to stay away from your discord. it's full of cringy elitist stereotypical white hip-hop heads and being influenced by them won't do your journey through hip-hop any good

Julian

Tbh you might have to listen to some of his extremely early projects like Room for Improvement or Comeback Season that is just him rapping over more "traditional" beats

snooza

I can respect if you don’t enjoy the music but most of the hate is bc of his personal life and if you’re talking to people like Discord Mods you are going to get a very biased opinion that Drake is bunz and Kendrick and J Cole are way better and all that but why? Drake is more successful than both of them for a reason yanno? They all ran through women in their prime as well? Their music is better bc they’re married and settled down? I don’t rly understand. Also believe the internets public opinion vs real life peoples views on him are drastically different.

Jacob Cooper

Loved the reaction as a Drake fan. It was really apparent from the first moment you started playing the album you were very uncomfortable and unhappy. Kinda sad you skipped the house outro of Preach, it’s really weird. This album is kinda experimental in a way, very minimal, has some house/electronic/maybe even grime elements to it. But like all Drake music, it’s also kinda R&B. You were expecting him to rap his ass off, and he can do that, but most of the time he’s just kinda signing. In a way you can compare it to the older Weeknd music. I think he definitely has a flow, but it’s more of a melody. Excited for the Nothing was the Same reaction! Although it’s even more R&B than this album.. So you’re probably not going to like it. What a Time to be Alive & Scary Hours 2 are probably the best Drake records for you to listen to if you only like rapping Drake.

PissGossypiboma

has he addressed this? Its the whole reason I'm a patron..like wtf

FuzzyDunlop

You've got to continue your kanye journey too, it's almost over, it will be interesting to see how you handle your bias. I still believe there is a huge heart in ye. he said terrible things but a lot of rappers have DONE terrible things. A couple of my family members are bipolar. They are people with a huge heart, the greatest people, but when they're manic... My stepfather is biplar and he actually spit in a persons face on a plane thinking he was a jewish person, trying to kill him. He now takes lithium and he's quiet, doesn't say a word and sleeps all day. My aunt who's bipolar thought there were people going into her house at night moving all of her stuff, thinking everyone's going to get her. She's taking her meds, into a facility, staring into the distance, a ghost. I get that someone like Ye, being bipolar, also with the fame he's got and the sketchy hollywood people around him, thinks the way he does. It doesn't make it ok, but i think it's a fault of society/culture/media and their wanting "total entertainment forever" that we follow the word of artists. Artists are important to evoke a feeling, being a frequenty of what lives in society/people. But they shouldn't be listened to word for word. That's why USA got Trump. An entertainer. Because your culture holds their words for the most important thing in the world. Ye is a person that needs help, but if he doesn't want to, because the medication makes him feel tired and uninspired, as long as he doesn't DO anything harmful he can do what he wants. He's a free citizen. And a human being, with heart. For me Donda is one of his greatest. Some people don't feel that way but you can't argue that a song like Jesus Lord is on of the greatest songs in his discography, fan or not. With that I really think the journey is worth continuing.

Wout Mattens

I get that people are dissapointed when a reviewer doesn't like their favourite album, but come on some of the comments here complaining about bias and 'not getting it' are just ridiculous. We know Bob doesn't like repetitive music from albums like The Melodic Blue, idk why people were expecting this to be the "you'll really get Drake if you listen to this one" album.

NaveDorrag

Reading these comments reaffirms the notion that people really only watch reaction videos because they want to regain the feeling they had when they listened to the album for the first time. Which is why they get so upset when Bob doesn't feel the same way, because it robs them of their nostalgia trip and gives them an uncomfortable feeling that maybe their own initial positive reaction to the album was somehow 'wrong' or unjustified. They then try to make it about 'objective criteria'. "This Drake album is good because X/Y/Z and if you don't understand that, you don't have an open mind!". We kind of saw it a little when he reacted to OutKast as well. He wasn't wholly impressed, and instantly you had a billion people in the comments defending Andre's genius while painstakingly explaining every bar that Bob failed to appreciate enough. I think people need to relax and let the man have whatever opinion he has. If you want to watch reaction channels that never criticise anything but always put on positive airs for the viewer because they know 97% of the audience is just looking for validation anyway, there are literally thousands of them out there.

Wasp Genocide

i can’t believe ur giving this man Drake a hard time, idk if its the way u went into his last album with a close mind but there’s no reason y u shoulda gave this album such a negative review u gave it. I guess u just had to be there when Drake was coming up and when Drake got to be where he is now. I wish u woulda started with his mixtape “So Far Gone” so u can really feel when he’s hungry and coming up. If we’re being honest I don’t think u woulda said anything if Kendrick or Kanye said the same bars that Drake has said & if anything you’d give them praise if they would say the same things Drake has said in his songs.

Jesus Inzunza

People beg him to do this for years and then get mad when he does it, but doesn't like it. Do people watch these reactions so they can see someone else's genuine reaction, or just so they can have their own taste reaffirmed by a popular Youtuber? Because the latter seems to be the obvious case.

Wasp Genocide

you'll never enjoy drake in this context, sitting down and analyzing his work. his music is much more something to just shut your mind off and drive to. i know that's kind of a cop out but that's how people listen to him, nobody is treating a drake album like it's To Pimp A Butterfly, everybody listens to drake either working out, driving, or partying. even though drake REALLY wants to be known as this respected lyricist, he just doesn't step up to the plate enough and it really shows in this video with you analyzing him bar for bar. I DO think Drake can actually rap but it's only when he feels like doing it, there's a LOT of filler songwriting in this album.

Captain

Nah drake wack
the only reason he is as big as he is is because he is “clean/suburban” enough for young white kids

sam

I really enjoyed this reaction :)

Craig Manning

I been fighting this fight for over ten years. He was decent when he was independent, hungry, not trying to be something he isn't. Three great mixtapes..no good albums. Changed after he signed when YMCMB.

FuzzyDunlop

Honestly, I’m not the biggest Drake fan but Thank Me Later was actually a good album

SlumpJones

also 'Thank Me Later' is my personal favorite era of drake

Raymond Keeler

just to let you know, Drake was famous before the age of 18. he was on Degrassi

Raymond Keeler

The line about this album being like an unenthusiastic hand-job is a certified Bob classic

Yarden

true. the standout verses are few and far between on this one. earlier drake or even scorpion side A are better picks for bars.

Kai Maraki

a drake and drive will change the game lol

Jay

The dichotomy you have of Drake in your opening thoughts is literally every rapper ever these days lmao especially Future. This is hip-hop culture man. Saying you had 42 women you could’ve married but then instead you had a half a million dollar necklace made isnt ignorant, it’s stuntin’ and looked at like flex lol

Tribecalledjoe

Yo bob not alone at all. The sad thing is this is easily his best album

sam

You're not alone, Bob. I feel like I've been living in The Twilight Zone since Drake first dropped. This is my favorite Drake album, but that's not saying much.

Jae

I suppose I shouldn't recommend albums in the comments anymore.. lol

Ryan

Bob, you definitely went into this with the DEMON activated and it was hilarious watching you go through it of course, for the most part.... You might have missed out on certain feels from just not rooting for Drake in the context of 2015 responding to energies, but that's a lot to ask today.... Anyway, this "IYRTITL" wasn't ever his best to me but I'm glad you're gonna give "Nothing Was The Same" a chance to possibly put things into context, and it's for sure to me his best album

Stefan Borglycke

Bro I completely forgot he did that 😭

Marquis keel

I thought the necklace was a crazy thing to publicise too lol However I don't know if I would have put this video out if I was you. I'm not surprised you mentioned Path's reaction but after 30 mins, this was kinda hard to watch. His content a lot of the time is... eh. But i think you must not be even curious about him or what he has to say at all to have this kind of a reaction. You're a great reactor, you're attentive, emotive and considerate. I thought your take care reaction was on the money actually. Even though he can be very corny, Drake is not a bad rapper. He knows what he's doing. For example on No Telling, you critique his rhyme scheme and pick up all the "yeah"s when he's rhyming the words before them.

AlxNetc

My guy this is a mixtape Drake put together in 2 weeks, NWTS is a fully realized well put together cohesive album with lyrics of substance rather then a “let me talk my shit” victory lap that IYRT is

Tribecalledjoe

idk what it is but i love drake so much he just has so many songs i like. imo i think this is his best project but i completely understand why he gets so much hate if u like it or not im gonna love it either way lmao

Jay

Why? So he can not like that one too? Lol why torment the man and waste another two hours of his life?!

Hollywood Hulk Logan

Lmao people still saying “you still gotta listen to NWTS” as if that’s any different than this album and will finally make him “GET IT”.

Hollywood Hulk Logan

Holy fuck Bob I'm laughing my ass off.

Alec Fields

the craziest thing kanye ever said was drake is the greatest of all time

bL

Woah there

Mr. Bigweld

Icl when you said the beat wasn’t good and you were waiting for beat drops after Know Yourself I started to feel like this was a biased review even though I don’t think that would be like you. Even Fantano gave this album a positive review I think and he shits on Drake a lot. Also this is basically a trap album from Drake so I think you came in expecting too much lyrically

cameron mackinnon

Fantano sucks dude his whole shtick is dehumanizing

Lance Boldman

Sorry Bob, but you let the drake hating demon really take over here, and not in a good way. I’m going to have to call you out for a biased review despite liking most of your reactions, even the more negative ones. You are holding drake to a lyrical standard that he clearly has no interest in reaching, and that you don’t hold trap artists to, and you overlooked a lot of cool instrumental moments that I can picture you raving about had they been on someone else’s album. Not a huge drake fan myself, but there is a reason almost everyone likes this album. Not saying you have to like it but there is a very clear bias and desire to dislike drake here.

Joseph Kiley

I don't like drake but this album is not bad. The production is impeccable and drake's lyrics are a lot less cringe compared to his other projects. I think you were looking too much for deep lyrics when this is just a bragadocious pop rap album.

ak1gd

Bob, you are a trooper! I admire your discipline to keep going. I am completely synced with you on Drake. I've given his albums so many chances. My favorite line in this reaction is, "Yeah, you're lonely. That's cause you're dumb." LOL

Dave Danesh

Can't lie, im mega surprised at this reaction. I've always loved your reactions for the reality of them but I think you came into this one wanting to dislike it. The fact that you think these songs are "About Nothing" when reading bars that literally mean something. The production is flawless from start to finish. I also don't understand why you hold Drake to a lyrical standard as if he's contending with Kendrick for best bar for bar rappers, just like a future or a travis scott, these songs aren't meant to be lyrical miracles. Still quite a few good bars in here though.

Ryan Borthwick

Before I watch this, Dark Lane Demo Tapes is a better record âœ‹đŸ€š okay I’m done

Josh

got to say thats the thing that kept pissing me off, and I'm really not a Drake fan like that. His flow on Know Yourself and No Tellin especially are so great.

Ryan Borthwick

I understand looking for deeper lyrical content, but I also think you underestimate how much ,especially women, like Drake's voice. Sometimes it's the vibe and not as much the content. I prefer a Kendrick for example but he's not exactly a easy chill listen all the time.

Lowkey_kountry

I'm not a drake fan but this is the one project I actually like. Drake has a tendency to put a lot of filler tracks on albums to make them longer for no reason, but this album only really has 1 skip. Ghost writing aside it's a pretty good album like a 7-8

hlep me

Drake is always a painful groan of a listen.

Evilknightz

exactly what i was thinking the whole time + the apparent ignorance of what a slant rhyme is in earlier songs.

Austin Aldous

I can already tell the replies to this video will not be very friendly lmfaoo

Genesis Osuna

lmaoo can't believe there's people who are paying for Bob's patreon only to hate on him for not liking their favorite artist

Genesis Osuna

Alot of Drakes narrative is I’m here I made it and talking his shit but it’s not just for nothing, Just like Kanye was put in a box when he first entered Drake was labeled the “nerdy jewish canadian” rapper for a very long time and by alot of rappers he looked up to growing up, the industry looked down on him until around NWTS. The chip on his shoulder when he raps is why people love him and has a purpose. Going from the “no one will ever listen to your nerdy ass” to the top 1 or 2 rapper of all time is a huge accomplishment and I really don’t think should be looked over and wasn’t done just by happenstance the guy puts in mad work and is arguably the most consistent artist we have in hip-hop rn.

Tribecalledjoe

😂😂 holy shit the caption mixed with these replies is amazing.. He’s not going to like everything.

Kashon Garner

You skipped passed a TON of bars on 6pm in New York and pointed out a few lines you didn’t like

Lo

I feel the complete opposite way about everything you just said 😂 there’s no shot Bob would like any song on More Life other than maybe Do Not Disturb. He just doesn’t want to be bored & wants some kind of lyrical content to grab onto, & More Life has none of that & NWTS has that on almost every song (except 305 to my city)

Teddy Andrew

Bob let the demon take full control on this one

Sredna

Yeah Bob there are a lot of references you may miss on this one, also slang term and slowed down beats from Toronto and Houston. For example the call you an uber line was him kicking the chick out of his house, Gone till November and Worst Behavior are song references, whipping wrist motion is making music like he was cooking drugs. But none of that really matters though if you're not feeling the melodic/ rap flow he uses and a lot of the samples used for the beats so yeah Drake is really not your type of artist. Also he is more of a singles artist not an album artist which is one of the biggest knocks against him. He makes a bunch of non-related songs and puts them together.

Lowkey_kountry

Maybe cuz crown has actual meaning lol

Jay

And the rhyme scheme on you and the 6 wasn’t “mama” if you look at the words before mama they’re all rhyming. Mama is just and extra word on the end.

Lo

YOU HAVE TO DO "WHAT A TIME TO BE ALIVE" !!!

Tapes

Talking shit about his “fuel band” line tells me all I need to know about the rest of the video

CRASH

I'm just waiting for The Forever Story reaction

Isaac Abraham

But when Kendrick made CROWN and repeats stuff over and over it’s your favorite song Lmaoo. Not saying Kendrick’s not amazing cuz he is but I think you’re just hating cuz people in your discord hate him.

Lo

How do you like this album more than NWTS? This album just felt like a collection of songs it was good background party music tho

Isaac Abraham

Damn, despite your experience with Take Care this is surprising to me. And its fine enough that you dont like the lyrics, I can understand that - but the production? I think its damn near flawless, throughout the entire album! Really goes to show how vastly different two opinions on the same thing can be. At least you're explaining why you think what you think, so I wouldn't call you a hater 😂😂 Then again, you seem to be holding him to a higher standard than other artists, (Playboi Carti, Future, Travis even) just because he's popular, which I dont think is entirely fair. It's not his fault he's popular.

K.W

I don't like a lot of drake music but this is a good album. I think it is produced well too

daredevil777

That’s one hell of a demon you’ve got, lol. I’m kind of surprised, this is the only Drake project I actually sort of like. This is also pretty much the peak of Drake actually *rapping*, so if that’s what you’re into, it’s safe to say you probably won’t like anything else from him. I really like 6 God. It samples Donkey Kong Country, if you didn’t know.

VeganMilk

I enjoy this album, but this was hilarious to watch lol Would love to watch you react to Honestly, Nevermind. It's awful hahaha

Bryan Torres

I’d say listen to Nothing was the same and if still cant enjoy it then u genuinely just dont like his music lmao

Litty Again

I don’t know why people have been recommending this album so much, the highlight of it is the production. There’s a few songs with substance like ‘you and the 6’ ‘jungle’ ‘6PM in NY’ but the majority of it isn’t any crazy good verses.

King Capital

The Drake hate demon has consumed you. There’s no need to do Nothing Was The Same.

Darby

Saying drake has no flow is crazy

Jay Ikari

He said early on in the video that he will be doing that next.

Brandon White

Love that they sampled Donkey Kong Country 2 lmao

snooza

He also made this album in like 2 weeks and I think it’s more so supposed to just be him having fun on an album after trying so hard with his albums prior which is why fans tend to just have fun to this album.

Lo

You’re hating so hard lmaooo, I’m not even the biggest Drake fan but I think you may just not like him cause your age and this came out when most of his fans were in their party years and most of these songs are looked at as anthems, not necessarily for the lyrical content but for the vibes. Same for DS2

Lo

Either that or his more boom-bappy old mixtapes

snooza

Sad to see u didnt enjoy his best album. But to each their own.

Maurice Ruetz

Your reaction was exactly like mine. Never got into drake until VIEWS but his music is not on my playlist. Never understood how is there a debate about who’s better between Kanye and drake.

Jorge Monroy

I feel some criticisms were fair but please don't do anymore Drake lol PLEASE! Seems like he isn't for you, which I respect and understand. I don't think we need another video reaction after this one to see Drake isn't landing with you. I'm actually glad you did this one, now we can't say it was a one-off with Take Care lol Keep Rocking Bob!

Gerardo Rojas

Not even mad at your reaction. My boy drake has very little depth in his music

Jay

Absolutely understand your criticisms. Tbh even though I like it, you will probably feel the same about NWTS. I think you would like quite a few of the songs on More Life, although a lot of the songs on that album are actually terrible and its such a bloated album that it probably wouldn't suit a reaction format

Jake Lay

As someone who’s a drake fan and really enjoys this album, this was a really entertaining watch. Thanks bob!

Malek

Once I heard the opening monologue I knew what this would be. Not sure why anyone wants to see a reaction to NWTS after this, he obviously doesn’t like Drake lol. Way too many great/important rap albums and artists out there to be intentionally listening to someone you clearly don’t care for.

Jonah Douglas

Really just shouldn't waste anymore time doing Drake albums tbh, he's just not good

Cory

2 songs in i can already tell ur way more critical on him then literally any other artist you’ve ever done

jakob

Please do NWTS (his best album). Waaay more in depth lyrics if that’s what you’re looking for

Rush_Btw

Lmao. This is hilarious so far. Bob you HAVE to listen to “So Far Gone” by Drake. It’s what made him famous. And might be his best work. It’s been described as a progression to the sound Kanye & Cudi made with 808’s. And an inspiration for The Weeknd’s “House of Balloons”. That might be the only real chance you’ll have of liking Drake. đŸ˜‚đŸ€Ł

DJ Avenger

I'm just ready for the goat lupe coming up thanks BOB for getting to Mr Fiasco you want someone to say something hope you brought your Wheaties the rapper's rapper, concepts on max sir

Timothy Payton

I'm not even a huge Drake fan but this was a rough video. I get Drake is a big artist, but I don't get holding him to a standard that artists like Future, Travis Scott, and Playboi Carti aren't in terms of lyricism

Alex V

The hate is strong in this one. As a drake fan I always enjoy hearing it out and about. That being said I can understand why it’s not people’s cup of tea.

Mike G

Lol I feel like a drake stan compared to you Bob and I'm just meh about him

Macathizzle

drake sucks but you get used to it

zolris zolris

HAZZA HAZZA LETS GO DRAKE HATE

Cam

as someone who doesn’t care about drake, not a hater, but he doesn’t interest me, this album hits in the background! put this album on while you’re cleaning the house or playing games or something, it’s pretty good.

McSwagburgerXL

Honestly bob will never like drake hes a white married middle aged man it’s not meant for him and that’s perfectly fine same reason he didn’t like ds2 it’s “outside” music anthem music so if your not participating in rap “culture “ you won’t feel it

Carlos

i used to be a massive drake hater too until i just got more open minded. now i know ur really open minded so maybe it’s just not for you. i still would LOVE a nothing was the same reaction before you close the door on him forever. haven’t even watched the video yet though so maybe you’re click baiting us with the caption but

jakob

Lol you have to do NWTS next week after this

james moore

I dont know what the comments are upset about, you’re right. This music is for people pushing 30 trying to live vicariously through him. And that’s okay too

OnlineFor3ver

Only a true Drake lover could hate Drake the way Bob does

The Guy

The 6 God sample was dope too

Zach Gupta

Yes, and?

TomiTom2021

Drake saying he’s the best is bad but Kendrick doing it is bad?

Zach Gupta

As someone with a mixed opinion on drake I feel nothing about this

RINGER 13

im not even really a drake fan and im still offended by this somehow

Isaac Robichau

Know yourself is the greatest song ever made
