Out of albums I liked quite a bit when I was younger, this one has aged the worst by far haha. I listen to this now and dude is just yapping for the most part. Like you pointed out throughout, he doesn't even attempt to rhyme a lot of the time, he just blurts out social media yaps and calls it rap

Honestly, I didn't think he would like this album, not really on any hater shit, I just didn't think it had songs he would like. I would've rather you reacted to nothing was the same first and maybe more life. Now I think maybe just Nothing Was The Same and probably end it there. There are some fair criticisms, a lot of tracks arent "about anything", though this could likely be attributed to a lot of songs in general, I guess some of the rappity rappers give you 100 bars before you realize they arent talking about anything. If I remember correctly this was only supposed to be a free mixtape on datpiff and not an official album but that was stopped by his label, which is why there isnt as much cohesion. Will we be getting life after death or it was written anytime soon 👀? Also we need more Weeknd damn it lol, would love to have a monthly Abel drop, since it will take forever otherwise.

I’m a big Drake fan so here’s my take I honestly don’t think Drake is for you man, now granted I do think Drake haters got to you first (your base is mainly Kanye/Kendrick fans. Both of which don’t like Drake because of past “beefs”) but it seems like his music just isn’t for you. And that’s fine THAT being said, you were being VERY nitpicky and you didnt give Drake the same Grace you would give other artists. Docking him for the “4 minutes going off on the beat” line? Come on man lol Production wise Was minimal/Stripped down on purpose when you listen to Drake and 40 talk about it on interviews but honestly I’m shocked you didn’t like it. I will say not every beat needs a “Drop” and just because the Drop isn’t heavy doesnt mean the beat is bad/nonexistent Also I do think you’re under the impression that Drake takes himself too seriously and honestly? It’s the opposite. A friend of mine said it best “Drake is the greatest character Aurbey Graham has ever created” and he means that in a complimentary way. It‘s a show and Drake is the ultimate Showman, things that Drake fans love about him are what his haters hate about him. Perfect comparison if you’re a wrestling fan, Drake is Prime John Cena, millions love him, others hate him but guess what? He puts the asses in the seats every time and people tune in to either cheer or just boo. Just my thoughts, you said you were still doing NWTS and while I dread it at this point (no offense but this is where we’re at now when it comes to Drake lmao) I appreciate the fact that you’re giving it a listen. Now do I think you’re giving Drake a fair shake? Probably not, BUT I rather this than black listing him from the channel because hate him or love him. His force is WAY too big in Hiphop to act like he doesn’t exist. Also “Care Package” is another Drake project you should check out down the line. It’s not technically a official album but a bunch of leaked songs that didn’t make his albums.

I think starting with IYRTITL was a mistake, NWTS would’ve been a better way to get to know Drake, this was a mixtape and not an album. NWTS talks more about who Drake is and this mixtape was more of a relaxed flex.

The drake disdain is real lol.. but I am glad you caught that in this mixtape he does this thing a lot where the beat goes hard during the verses but pull back during the choruses, and I think that was intentional. You don't have to like it but I think he was just experimenting with something new and trying out a new sound from his previous 5 projects and something new for hip-hop in general.
