I'm sure it's had to be recommended, but you've gotta do a Harry Mack video sometime. Off-the-dome freestyling, not pre-written at all (and he'll prove that over and over) that'll blow your mind. I could watch first-time reactions to Harry Mack all day, and I have. As others mentioned freestyles aren't generally blocked on YT; after all, they're often a promotional tool anyway so the artist wants it out there.

Also, I always turn on the subtitles with youtube, that helps as well. Plus you can always rewind like you did. Thats how I listen to it. I hit rewind and listen two or 3 times, no shame in my game lol Btw the freestyles don't usually get blocked on youtube especially if they are done at the bigger known places like Funk Flex, Sway, or La Leakers so feel free to post those. Last note and this is soooooo important, Black Thought is considered to be a GOAT MC in the rap game, I swear his brain is connected to the internet 😭😂. That last freestyle you did is considered top 5 radio freestyles of all time. Every time I listen to im dumbfounded. With all that in mind I think you did a fantastic job for not having a single lyric in front of you. Don't be afraid to do more freestyles in the future, its just another element of Hip-hop.

The Jay-Z portion had leaked years ago, but the Big Daddy Kane portion is freshly leaked. If you want to get into more 80s rap, Kane should be on your radar.

They aren't lip synced, but they often have many takes, especially for the lesser experienced freestyle artists. They have millions of views but they're hosted on BET's website.

2022-11-14 15:30:23 +0000 UTCFor the freestyle reactions I think it works best if you stop and maybe replay whenever a line catches your ear i know thats pretty much how most people listen to these freestyles anyways because it is super hard to catch everything when they're going line after line jumping from subject to subject but you did great.

They’re very good and they put their lyrics on the screen so that might help u get more used to breakin down freestyles

Since you did this, I now want to see some battle rap reactions. I’d suggest Dizaster vs Dumbfoundead, a little offensive to some, but absolutely entertaining. I love it.

2022-11-14 03:40:03 +0000 UTCSuper happy you got an intro to freestyle in general and Black Thought specifically, full albums with lyrics to follow are great, but as you saw it’s another thing to just have to listen in real time and try to absorb before the next punchline. The Roots are an amazing band, I’ve seen them live a couple times, and Black Thought’s solo projects the last few years culminating in this year’s Cheat Codes have all been outstanding, all highlighting his lyrical mastery. In terms of raw talent, hard work, and oozing cool confidence, I don’t think there’s a better MC out there. And that’s not a dig at anyone, you saw how Method Man was even talking about how normally he wouldn’t read off his phone but he knew he had to bring his best with Tariq in the room.
