My apologies to those who were asking for the Forever Story, but I'm glad I started with this album first. Enjoy!

Don't know if you got your answer, but "swam oceans for the commas" refers to how far he's willing to go to get paid. The more commas in your bank account statement.

Franklin Knowles

If you do react to The Forever Story, make sure to listen to 2007 at the end. It was supposed to be the Outro but it didn't get cleared.

David Devora

Actually he has another album called Para Tu. Probably a mix tape or EP. But it's still JID

Franklin Knowles

DiCaprio 2 next!!!

Kevin Lauture

Ok first order of business if you're doing spooky theme then you got, got, GOT, to do the Clipping albums "There Existed an Addiction to Blood" and "Visions of Bodies Being Burned" They aren't short, but they are basically a direct pairing both were released in October of 2019/2020 and like, straight up just modern horror themes and influences, but there's lyrics and production for weeks not days. I will co-sign any amount of recommendations for Memphis horrorcore rap as suitable for October/spooky-times, for sure; and there's lots of options. But the Clipping projects are a different approach and relatively recent, vs a lot of the well known Memphis stuff is older, lo-fi, and overall they trade in a different ethos. Yes, doing the two back-to-back means a 2-hour doube feature but that's a Horror movie tradition anyway. Second order of business, I'm super glad Never Story was first, it's definitely a good project and worth attention on it's own. Forever Story is great all around but people act like Never wasn't also great. It has no skips in my book and great music and story all around. The only thing is how Forever Story is just more mature of a project on all fronts without loosing the fun. Some projects get mature and stop being fun. Mr Morale is a mature work, not a fun album. Forever Story is heavy and grown a bit, but stays fun and bumpin'. Never Story is more youthful and boisterous, but still smart about it. I'll say for all the hub-bub of picking this one it paid off.

Scott Watrous

Perfect Choice, could you listen to Childish Gambino please. I know you will love him as an artist.

Apostolos Karavitakis

Bro, yes, Uneven Compromise is a great recommendation.

The Gr8 Scott

To be honest even if you don't enjoy this album, I would recommend the forever story, JiD significantly improved between the never story and now.

anand boss

You might as well DiCaprio 2 since he only has 3 albums out. You'll find even more high quality flows and rampage-esque verses.

g prada

Gotta do dicaprio 2 now its only right

Erick Fraire

Great video! For your next reviews i recommend checking out Billy Woods

ak1gd

DONT SKIP DICAPRIO 2 FOR THE LOVE OF GOD

Andrew Stannard

Really hope you do DiCaprio 2 Before The Forever Story, both are great albums and JID only has these 3 albums so it would be cool to see you see his growth

The Lonely Wolf

That part on the end of LAUDER that you were mesmerized by is a lot more frequent on The Forever Story. the album is insane.

ZachTheMusicMan

I would just like to highly recommend Lil Ugly Mane for October for the spooky theme, he's a modern underground legend and he started his career with a modern experimental twist on Memphis Rap, but he also has all sorts of experimental and ominous sounding albums, but for the October theme his very short EP titled Uneven Compromise would probably fit best, you could also easily do it as a Monday reaction since it's just 10 minutes, I'm sure the underground fans would appreciate some Lil Ugly Mane.

Christopher Bloom

If you like JIDs wordplay etc. you have to get to Lil Wayne! Lil Wayne have top 3 wordplay/flows ever

Lo

Hey Bob as far as how to say his name its either/or. JID has always stated that the “correct” way of saying it is pronouncing each letter “J.I.D” and prefers that but JID is fine as well. He came up with that pseudonym thinking back on his childhood days and how “jittery” he used to be as a kid so he put 2 + 2 together and the rest is history 😂 his real name is Destin

Edmond Williams Jr

Agreed, he's also guaranteed to love it. Super aggressive, batshit crazy production, and Daveed's lyrics are incredible I really, really hope he does Visions of Bodies Being Burned first.

Cory

Bob I swear to god if you don't do a Clipping. album in October I'm gonna lose it. Visions of Bodies Being Burned is BASICALLY the closest thing rap has to a Halloween album. Dropped a week before Halloween two years ago, horrorcore, dark, experimental, it would be PERFECT but the fact that I don't think I've heard you bring up Clipping. before scares me. Even There Existed an Addiction to Blood (ALSO released in October the year prior) would be a great way to go. Whatever you i'm sure itll be great. But you will NOT be disappointing with Clipping..

Yarden

I really hope you do DiCaprio 2 before The Forever Story tho. Excellent album.

K.W

Cant wait for Bob to react to 151 Rum lol

K.W

And yeah you’re gonna love the Forever Story…like others have said it completely blows the other 2 out of the water

VeganMilk

You’re spot on with the DOOM comparison. A lot of people have said the same thing about JID in terms of his ability to mix humor/playfulness with technicality and execution

VeganMilk

i swear nobody can flow like JID

yeah

I hope you don’t skip Dicaprio 2 like how you’re skipping Travis Scott’s second album and skipped Denzel curry’s Zuu album 🙄

CRASH

For your October theme I hope you will consider listening to Gravediggaz- 6 Feet Deep. It's a horrorcore rap album that is absolutely amazing. Rza from Wu-Tang is one of the members.

Michael Smith

You should check his XXL cypher and freestyle performance, the cypher is literally fucking insane and pretty much a classic performance when it comes to the XXL cyphers. Worth checking out to see more of JID’s capability as a rapper. Great video so far! I’m 30 min in

Leonardo Rivera

really funny that you listened to this before Low End, because you might recognize a shared sample on both albums... Somebody is a pretty Tribe influenced song sound wise as well.

Antonio

god i hope he reacts to D2. if he likes the flows on this album, he is going to LOVE the flows on that one.

kazee

Great video. Fyi, if you aren’t going to do the forever story for a couple months you should try to react to Black on Both Sides before hand. It would be cool because you would be able to catch a really good sample, plus mos def has a feature on TFS. Either way, I can’t wait for that reaction.

Carter Smith

If you're thinking about a spooky theme for October J.I.D is literally born on Halloween 😂

Isaac Abraham

Great video and it only gets better for JID. Maybe DiCaprio 2 for Sunday? It’s not too long

Mahmood Al Mardi

The Never Story is a good album and introduction to JID but I can't wait for you to get to The Forever Story cause I feel like it just blows this one and Dicaprio 2 out the water and you'll really love its content and production across the board.

Ryan Naylor

Great video as always! Can't wait to hear the dicaprio 2 reaction whenever that comes up.

Tonibologna I want to stick my stromboli in chrissys cazlonii

Excited to listen to the album for the first time in like 4 years I think
