I think that in Hard Piano, when he's talking about where there's no brake pedals and he had to hopscotch and skip through where there's trouble and it's hotter than hell's kitchen could be a clever way of Push saying he's walked all over hell and back. Hell being the streets/ghetto and the drug dealing lifestyle where the the block is hot (like hell's kitchen) and basically it's all gas no brakes (like you gotta be all in to survive). I think Push is saying he's tiptoed and hopscotched and skipped through them like, he's been there and done everything there is to do or see.
yeah
2022-08-21 18:19:32 +0000 UTCGotta start with Lord Willing if he's doing Clipse

2022-08-21 10:42:38 +0000 UTCGreat album. Hard to say if this or his newest project is his best. If you are interested in going head first into this Beef, I would suggest to look up Trap Lore Ross’ video on this. He does a great job of showing the timeline of these beefs, even going back to the whole Clipse Lil Wayne Beef, which eventually made its way back when Drake was beefing with Common and eventually Pusha T and Ye.

2022-08-20 10:50:10 +0000 UTCNot only that, but the picture was also spontaneously bought by Kanye a few days before Daytona's release for a huge amount just to use as artwork.

2022-08-20 07:00:20 +0000 UTCHey Bob, if you’re gonna react to the 2 diss tracks between Drake and Pusha I think you should listen to them and then watch some reactions to them (maybe from Lost in Vegas). It’ll help you to understand the situation and lyrics more since there might be history, references, etc that you’re unfamiliar with

2022-08-20 03:54:13 +0000 UTCThat album is worth a reaction imo save it for then

2022-08-19 23:56:53 +0000 UTCFinally got the patreon off the premise of this week, you fucking rock bob. I fuck with your effort. - Bob this is a hell of an album for you to be introduced to Pusha-T hahahha it has some of his deepest double and tripple entendres up until that point. Pusha is a 'coke rapper' 90-95% of his content is about pushing coke (hence the name maybe lol) however even with a singular topic across 4 solo albums (i'm not kidding) he has found ways to keep it interesting and fresh and compelling, hell after a pusha-t album some people say they feel like they been moving coke or that they want to move coke hahaha. If you are planning on hearing more of pusha going forward I would reccomend you start with his first solo album and work your way up. He also has a track with kendrick (Nosetalgia) that i think will absolutley blow your mind when you look up the breakdown to kendrick's verse (no spoilers.) Looking forward to the rest of this video and the rest of the super week releases!

2022-08-19 23:20:56 +0000 UTCYeah Bob please listen to “The Story of Adidon” which dropped 2 days after this

2022-08-19 22:04:01 +0000 UTCPusha T and Daytona are both one of my favourite rappers and favourite albums. The production is top tier. I'm just a white bloke in his late 20s from England with very limited exposure to drugs but I just love how he raps. His writing, cadence, references - it's all just so appealing lol. His cadence and ab libs make a great beat even better.

2022-08-19 21:40:29 +0000 UTCI would love it if you dove into the pusha / drake beef for Monday content. You really only need to listen to 2-3 songs. I can do a write up for you if you’re interested. Probably the wildest beef of the modern era

2022-08-19 21:24:13 +0000 UTCGood Job on this one! Pusha-T is a tough artist to do because he layers every line with those double and sometimes triple entendre to thing normal people have no clue about. You don't know yet but you will learn lol definitely if you can go another Pusha-T project in the future that would cool. To me he is like a rappers rapper if that makes sense.

2022-08-19 20:12:23 +0000 UTCDefinitely gonna have to listen to Story of Adidon (Drake diss track) for Monday’s video. It’s only right. Greatest diss track of all time imo.

2022-08-19 19:48:07 +0000 UTCI hope Clipse (Lord willin) is on your massive list. Itll be a trip to hear Pusha T and his brother on that Neptune production. I wish I could hear "Grindin" for the first time again.

2022-08-19 18:55:20 +0000 UTC1. Ether 2. Adidon 3. Takeover That would be my diss track rankings
Tyler Johnson
2022-08-19 18:54:22 +0000 UTCI’m just a guy from middle of nowhere Wisconsin and I’ve never seen or tried a drug. Pusha is hands down my favorite rapper. He’s so good at what he does. You have to do Its Almost Dry that came out this year. I think it’s better than Daytona only because of the nostalgia from Pusha rapping over Pharrell beats. Great video!
Tyler Johnson
2022-08-19 18:42:43 +0000 UTCIt’s hilarious you’re doing this today as DJ Drama the guy who told Meek about Drakes reference tracks came out and talked about the situation for one of the first times today and basically says that it was a much bigger situation and ostensibly was a smear campaign by Jay-Z (who meek was signed to) and Puff and the higher ups to tear Drake down and take him out of the “top” conversations as he was becoming massive after the release of NWTS https://youtu.be/odPDwXusjEc

2022-08-19 18:42:07 +0000 UTCYou had the perfect reaction to "If You Know You Know", exactly what Push himself would've expected lol. To clear a couple things up from a person who knows: "Running off on the plug": As a dealer your "plug" is the person you get your drugs from. To "run off on the plug" means you got drugs given to you on consignment and then disappeared on the person who gave it to you without paying them. Very dangerous thing to do in that lifestyle. "Brick layers in ball shorts, coaching from the side of the ball court": A "brick" is slang for a kilo of cocaine because it typically comes packaged in a brick like shape, so a "brick layer" is a slick way to refer to a cocaine "plug". Often when you get to that level of drug dealing if you're good natured you'll begin to do some things for the community such as sponsoring a local basketball team, hence why the "brick layers" are "coaching from the side of the ball court". Also could be a metaphor for OGs are no longer in the game "coaching" young guys who still are. "Numbers don't add up on the blow...": Often in rap you'll hear rappers referencing the prices they were able to get their drugs at, for instance Young Jeezy is famously "Mr. 17.5" meaning he would get a brick of cocaine for $17,500 (which is/was relatively cheap). Push is implying that he knows the actual prices that drugs go for now because unlike other rappers he still connected while they're not & because of that often times the prices they throw out are outdated by atleast 10 years. "Tennis balls for the wrong sport": Tennis balls are a fairly common thing for dealers to hide drugs in for smuggling along with containers of coffee grounds. Big Meech is arguably the most famous and successful drug dealer from Atlanta of all time, he used to run a gang called BMF or "Black Mafia Family". Shortly before they got busted Big Meech famously threw a huge birthday party in which he had not just one, but 2 live tigers on display. That's all for "Drug Dealer Fun Facts" for now lol. If you need any other clarifications I'll be here

2022-08-19 18:31:13 +0000 UTCWE NEED THE DISS TRACKS
Boop
2022-08-19 18:29:36 +0000 UTCAnd ALL of Pusha T's references are about cocaine and drug dealing lol so if you don't pick up on the slang that's most likely what he's talking about.
Curtis
2022-08-19 18:29:20 +0000 UTCi agree, go through some of his earlier albums first before giving Nasir a try
snooza
2022-08-19 18:28:29 +0000 UTCThe album cover is Whitney Houston's death scene in her bathroom. Quite a bit of controversy around that when this album was released lol.
Curtis
2022-08-19 18:23:06 +0000 UTCJust FYI right off the back you have way more Nas albums to go through before you jump to NASIR. That was not a good album and even Nas was unhappy with the turnout. He felt rushed and that approach is not normally how he creates an album. At least listen to It Was Written first.
Curtis
2022-08-19 18:20:19 +0000 UTCYou did decent with the lyrics. Pusha T is technically super solid but his lyrics are extreme. Either extremely hood or extremely millionaire shit lol so if you identify anywhere in the middle you're a lil lost. If you know you know.
Paul Salvador Estrada
2022-08-19 18:09:06 +0000 UTCWe neeeed a reaction to the drake and pusha t diss tracks against eachother. Pushas diss is one of the best if not the best ever. He espouses drake for having a son and trying to hide from being a father and much much more. Absolutely rips him to shreds. The beef happened very soon after this album released

2022-08-19 17:57:10 +0000 UTCalso appreciate the mention of 36 chambers; please do more Wu lol. I would recommend jumping into Raekwon - Cuban Linx (which is a huge influence to Pusha T btw) and then GZA - Liquid Swords next. regarding the Trugoy annotation on "if You Know You Know", Trugoy is a member of De La Soul who also went by the nickname of Plug 2. not sure why Pusha didn't just say it in the annotation lol.

2022-08-19 17:43:10 +0000 UTCAlso recommend reacting to Clipse - Hell Hath No Fury. Clipse is a duo of Pusha T and his brother Malice. The album is a bonafide hip hop classic, and is fully produced by the Neptunes (Pharrell Williams & Chad Hugo) who grew up with Pusha T. Hell Hath No Fury has a haunting minimal presence that hasn't really been matched since imo.

2022-08-19 17:43:01 +0000 UTCRegarding the album cover, it’s a photo of Whitney Houston’s drug ridden bathroom from when she was addicted to cocaine. Kanye paid something like $40,000 to license the photo for this cover
