and another thing! π i love eliza, my best friend is albanian and we always comment on how great it was seeing another albanian on tv as early as the 90's BUT i never liked faith π she has her moments but i feel like it's hard for fans to differentiate her from eliza because she did such a wonderful job playing her. i love all of her quirks, humor, & mannerisms but her character just always felt half-baked to me.

2024-06-11 05:06:03 +0000 UTCthis episode, dead man's party, and empty places (really looking forward to your take on that one!) constantly reiterate how dismissed and disrespected buffy was yet she always had to be the bigger person because joss whedon & co decided she needed to be the perfect 'role model.' ironically, it's nothing but a serious lack of boundary setting (can be argued that the scoobies violate them even when she does set them). where is the empowerment or justice in that? how does it even strengthen the scoobies' friendship? the show was written with themes of female empowerment in mind but certain characters like xander get harder to watch every rewatch. mind you, i love multi-dimensional characters whose arc isn't linear and mimics reality but by the end of the show SPOILER ALERT: i was only left liking buffy and one other character.
