The vocals! Key really delivered I must say, he gave his ALL here and my God Jonghyun was NOT playing!! Some of those notes he was doing effortlessly were beyond.
Everytime Onew sings it's really hypnotic. It's already great hearing Taemin still retain some of that smoother singing he has done post military although he still has his habits lol.
Minho's low notes and general energy is just beyond sexy it's insane.

Shinee is such a special group. I feel their music in my spirit, it literally makes my heart happy. I can’t think of a group in recent years that’s affected me in the same way.

2025-06-04 07:23:35 +0000 UTCI'm sure you know by now the lyrics weren't finished, so it's cool we get a look into Jonghyun's songwriting style even now. Like Key commenting on the lyrics was because Jonghyun would use fake English to choose rhythms before finalizing lyrics. But something else that if you speak Korean you'll notice, Jonghyun gave voice directions to future Jonghyun. For example, when Minho says 'he likes low parts' it sounds like Jonghyun didn't finish the word 'artist' but it was a vocal direction. He actually says 'down' in Korean to signify that he wanted to go lower on that part but couldn't hit it when he recorded. Minho understood that was what he wanted so that's why he made that comment about low parts.

I am so proud of the members and how hard they worked to bring Jonghyun song to life. They were in the studio “fighting for their lives “ and I could totally see Jonghyun laughing at them as they perfected the song. Shinee OT5 will always be forever and this comeback has been their highest 1st week total sales and Jonghyun is finally included in the merch as well! I was excited to see your reaction to the song on camera. For Shawols it was such an emotional moment to hear Jong all through the song and bridge. The members each talked about hearing his voice on the demo and I could only imagine their emotions. Please if you have time react to Starlight. It’s Jong song as well. He wrote so many great songs before his passing, and I just grateful to be around to hear it as a long time Shawol 😍

Even if his voice were not included here, you would be able to tell that Jonghyun produced and wrote this based on the note choices alone. They stepped up to the task beautifully. Taemin commenting on how Jonghyun used to help him with singing reminded me of how I sometimes had trouble distinguishing between their voices on the Misconceptions of You/Me/Us album. And of course, they JUST released a dance practice after you reacted to this
