Girl. This tour. I've finally decided to edit it. I wasn't going to cos I found my mood lowering but i decided fuck it and added it to my Japanese album reaction.
Firstly fuck Beyond Live. They need to do so much better. That disgusting filter HAS GOT TO GO. LIKE YESTERDAY. It sucks all the colour and life out of the footage and on top of that their SHITTY camera work does absolutely NOTHING for the performances. I've seen their performances that SM uploaded and my GOD it looks like a whole different concert.
Props to the members though, everyone raised the levels so MUCH and filled the gaps in many ways however the chemistry can't help but feel off because it's just not a complete group and won't be for a minute but that's not their fault they still worked very hard.
I think what would've helped the tour feel more cohesive would be to reimagine it for the 6 current members we have so the stages feel specific to them. Not in a way that's time consuming but subtle changes in terms of choreo, staging etc because when it's done like it's been done before you notice the gaps even more.
Now for the Japanese album, the vocals were EATING!! No surprises there and i obviously knew some songs already but i'll definitely do their other Japanese albums after this.
Jaehyun needs to sing in Japanese more often omg.

2025-03-17 08:15:12 +0000 UTCOk since I just finished watching the concert on my own, then did some research to see what was actually going on production wise I have to say the biggest disappointment for ME after watching everything is Beyond Live. They ABSOLUTELY have to go ): Now I came to watch your reaction right after and will comment based off what I observed and things you mentioned. First of all those last high adlibs in Walk are thankfully actually sung by Doyoung (You can see it in their recording behind). Also yeah I don't know how they're going to perform as a group when Doyoung is gone either. I'm gonna assume they might just let the backing track play during those parts if they perform at all. Unfortunately I have to agree that their energy seemed off most of the time and likely is because of what you mentioned, Taeyong's absence. That man truly is the core of 127 and NCT as a whole. Fortunately, based off my experience and recent videos from their latest concert stops not only does their chemistry usually show a lot better towards the end of their tour, but that connection with their music you were talking about also seems to come across a lot more. Now, for their outfits I really don't have anything else to say. I mean we've seen them styled really well for different events so I don't know why that energy isn't carried through for their concerts. Also, I know the energy wasn't really helping you get into the mood and it was difficult finding a good upload to watch the concert, BUT in my opinion in think this was a very cohesive and well put together concert. Firstly, this isn't your fault but although I don't think you would've really vibed with it, you missed the first few songs and the VCR's really help connect each section of the concert. This of course would probably improve the concert experience a lot more for people who could attend in person rather than online watching. Lastly, like other people have already commented, the amount of money put into set design and production for this concert was just gorgeous if we had been able to see any of it. I actually can't believe they charge decent money just for some close up gray head shots and some choreo moments. My biggest takeaways from all of this are that this is definitely a better in person concert experience, SM please get a good costume designer and let these men rest, finally I can't wait for all of them to be back and perform together. It's been a rough year for 127 for seeeeeveral reasons they def need time for Mark and Haechan to rest, also the other members to mentally regroup and they can have put out solo projects. Like SM you literally have NCT U for a reason you can use it. I mean I know we don't know all the moving pieces behind the scenes, but SM frustrates me with how they operate, they be acting like a nugu company with how sloppy they organise things and as such they are gonna continue to have problems with artist retention. The way they are going about managing things is unsustainable imo.

Give Haechan a mini album, let Mark rest a little, do some NCT U with Junwoo in the lineup, Taeyong comes back and do a full album and a little tour, Doyoung goes off to military, give Johnny something!! lol

Kick It???? LMAO no comments, just laughs, that was so funny lol Taeyong's absence is definitely felt, after all he puts the neo in NCT, he has such a strong stage presence and influence as the leader, I can't wait for him to comeback, he's gonna go crazy!!! The concert production was lacking but then again, tell me a concert from SM that's not lacking?? Red Velvet's R to V was the worst one imo but this one is also very much ???? like, idk what the thought process was there.. And I can only imagine that takes away their energy a bit as well. Now, I feel like I can't complain about the members' energy because they have some big shoes to fill and they're clearly doing their best with what they were given. Mark as always was working extra time, that man was running a marathon lol Him and Doyoung having to do 200% the entire concert and they did great! I'm glad people are starting to notice Johnny more, probably because he's doing more lines now, given the circumstances. I've always found him very charismatic, he's famous for that after all lol His energy on stage is always on point, even before when he didn't get to sing much but now yeah I bet he's even more excited! Yuta having more lines is great too, I love the grit in his voice and again, I feel like I can't complain because I think he's mostly covering Jaehyun's lines and some of Taeyong's rap so really, big shoes to fill!! I actually thought that they were really pulling out all their energy but appeared tired and not enough used to the changes in formation and vocals. You can see some mistakes sometimes but they pull it off brilliantly. The camera work, the lights, the costumes absolutely they need a fresh look. Lastly it did not show but actually during lemonade you see Jaehyun appearing on the screen. He had blond hair so it might have been recorded just before his enlistment. I do miss Jaehyun a lot I have to say that his vocal and range not being there is very noticeable for me.

Even the ballad stages were a work of art, there was a whole ass gigantic art piece floating above them that was never even shown ONCE in the livestream, like how hard is it to zoom out? Kfans were raving about how out of all their concerts, this had the best production and even the folks on thr 4th floor had a great time. Doyoung’s my bias an he was amazing here so I’m glad they had this show in Korea, but this tour is so unnecessary considering how much work he’s putting vocally on top of the 500 things he has going on right now. I understand that this is going to be the last time in a while that we’ll see group activities but damn, give the man some time to breathe.

I feel like they were all separated for awhile doing their own things and to come back together as a group with no leader, who is the pillar and the one who brings familiarity as 127 and whips the boys back to 127 shape, they felt the emptiness. Along with Jaehyun missing as well as the huge elephant in the room of Jail that they have to live with, it must have been a challenge. They said themselves in their ment that this concert has been the most difficult and they found it hard to concentrate. They weren’t sure if they could pull it off and if they would be well received as 6 members. They know they can’t replace what’s missing so theyre trying to channel their own identity and making it work for themselves. Since they barely had anytime to practice and members were still jumping around doing individual work while preparing for this concert, maybe as they continue the tour, traveling as 127 and being with each other 24/7, they might warm up and create their own chemistry as 6 members. I’m seeing them in LA so hopefully so!! Agree with the outfits, the recycled clothes has got to go!

Also, I feel like Doyoung is putting in so much work vocally. Not only for 127, but he was performing a lot for his solo, festivals, concerts and such. Plus he’s currently doing a musical. So I will give him credit there. Johnny is holding it together with the insane energy he brings, so I appreciate that you noticed lol. His fancams make me smile bc he seems like he’s enjoying it. Perhaps the energy is different bc everyone is getting a little burnt out? They’re all so busy doing so many different things, so maybe a break is necessary. They did hold it down covering all the parts amongst themselves and making time to hold a concert despite their busy schedules and short notice. I think it was a nice gift to give fans before Doyoung enlists 😭
