I totally get why people are extra hard on him because he's had such a back n forth in progress but there were some great moments in this that shows he HAS been working on his vocals and with confidence has the potential to be a very exciting singer if he sticks to what works for his voice. If he stays away from the whining habit which he does for most of this album, his voice can truly shine.
I have no doubt his tone will still be polarising but that's not always a bad thing as I discuss in the video. Many unique singers out there became legendary because they have the right technique!
Him singing "Who" acoustic is probably the best vocals I've ever heard from him, he's not trying to sound cute or nasally, it was relaxed well placed singing! It really excited me.
Some people thought I wasn't being honest when I reacted to his album and going easy on him (not sure why they'd think this when my set me free reaction was .. loool) but I'm glad this recording vindicated what I was HEARING.

Honestly just ignore the people saying that you were going too easy cos a lot of kpop stans just love to hate on Jimin specfically. I have noticed a lot of your audience doesn't like him or BTS but im glad you still appreciate them after all these years even though you might not love everything they do music wise. Thank you for continuing to react to Jimin 💜

2024-08-15 08:50:37 +0000 UTCI haven’t lived for very long lol but Jimins voice is unique and personally I’ve never heard anyone sound like him, ( I love his voice) and seeing him tap in and navigate his tone and learning more control ESPECIALLY now that he has his own songs and albums which means he has way more lines to sing. When ppl stop talking about technique or vocal habits, it's starts to delegitimize someone's opinion because it feels like then the stuff their talking about is subjective. Meaning, it starts to feel like the arguements coming at him are just saying "well I just don't like his voice", but just because some ppl don't, doesn't mean that that voice is inherently bad. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and tastes, the thing about me is, I'm so stubborn. So, if ppl don't like something and I think it could be prejudiced (I understand ppl also have tastes), it makes me like something more. That conflict about someone's uniqueness is interesting. Someone's vocal uniqueness is always interesting. Even if, in the end it doesn't engage with me enough or the artists music in other aspects doesn't. Like for me, I already feel that way about Who. I don't personally like the songs on the album, but I can appreciate his voice. As well as other aspects of the music and production. And I do like his voice. I've always liked his voice. It is a little early Micheal Jackson; (He could do a mean Don't Stop Till You Get Enough cover). Maybe also a little Sylvester. It's kinda subversive in some ways.

I love how much footage we have of not only Jimin's raw singing but also him talking about it in this era (from his MiniMoni video with RM, now his travel show with Jk + all the behind the scenes and recordings like this one). Alos not going to lie, Who accoustic verson is the reason I will never hate on remixes, some are really worth it, it's so good ! He is very honest and direct about where he is with his singing and what he needs to work on. For someone that debuted 11 years ago, to be this aware and not shy to talk about it on camera, it shows how humble he is and how he can only get better with this mentality. I'm also glad you talked about the gaslighting people are always trying to do with Jimin, it's not just you, there is a lot of people who just needs to here everyone hating on Jimin and his vocals. Like yes, we know this is not perfect thank you, but he still has a beautiful voice and we are allowed to praise him for what he's doing right, or his improvment. Anyways, thank you for the video I enjoyed it very much, very interesting as usual ! :D

2024-08-14 07:05:49 +0000 UTCI was surprised by the number of live singing clips they’ve posted of him this era (in studio, acoustic, during dance practice) - definitely shows more confidence. The acoustic version of ‘who’ really drove home how much he has improved in a short period of time. Already so much better than his studio recording done months prior. Hope he keeps doing whatever it is he has been doing, because I for one am excited to see what he can do!
